The most famous quarterback here may be Tennessee's Josh Dobbs, who had a knack for rallying the Volunteers to late comebacks in nationally televised games.
Dobbs is physically unimposing at a spindly 6'3¼" and 216 pounds. His velocity and accuracy were adequate but unspectacular Tuesday. He was more decisive Wednesday, delivering some sharp passes into traffic.
For a prospect with Dobbs' ordinary measurables, leadership becomes a major selling point. "Leadership is influence," he explained.
"You have to gain the trust of each and every person. They have to realize that it's genuine, that it's not coming from a fake place. Then their level of play rises with your level of play. You're able to motivate, push guys because you know them and you spent that quality time with them off the field."


Dobbs stock is definitely rising and I'm so happy Peterman has turned his career around Both will be drafted and both have a chance to become quality NFL QBs down the road.

Dobbs improved his downfield passing game by leaps and bounds as the season went along and that's why he is on the radar of so many NFL teams now. I won't be shocked to see someone take a chance on him in the 3rd or 4rth round.

I never would have thought Peterman would have a chance at the NFL after his time here. He made Crompton look like an MVP

His "opportunity" came at a time in which he was set up to fail. He was obviously not ready at the time and was judged almost entirely on that performance.

That Florida game might have set him up bad if you look at it that way but some would call it a golden opportunity to start a game at the Swamp for UT !!
He got another shot after that in a game before Dobbs took over.
I really like Peterman and I hope he gets drafted but I think UT and him weren't just meant to be.

He got to play a quarter against Georgia the next year when Worley went down, and Worley shredded Georgia that game. He had plenty of opportunity there as well, and was a straight up deer in headlights.

He clearly got that part of his game handled at Pitt tho, only team to beat the national champions.

If Peterman becomes a starting Pro Bowl QB in the NFL, there are still going to be people on this board who swear he's the worst Quarterback in UT history.

Seriously, the guy failed in one half of one game playing with a broken hand against one of the best defenses in the nation with only O-line that would fall apart within seconds protecting him. Maybe it's just time to admit that you can't fully evaluate a QB based on one rough half of play in far-from-ideal circumstances. Even Peyton Manning has had halves where he looked terrible.

This is a long way of saying a lot of people on this board are ignorant in terms of how to properly evaluate football play. And I agree with that.

Peterman is a great story. Always good to see someone fight through adversity and bounce back from a bad game, bad start to his career, etc. Shows a lot of confidence to do what he has done. Hope he has a long NFL career.

He played in 2013 behind an NFL OL and had twice as many pass attempts as yards against UF. He was bad. Glad he put it behind him tho. If he makes it to a pro bowl that would be a bad look for Butch

I hap hap happy doo all the time. Just saying that Dobbs perceived "better stats" all happened after we faced tough teams and played the worst teams of our schedule... Stevie Wonder could see that.
