Pitt's Peterman, Vols' Dobbs Lead a Surprising QB Class

Lord please do not let him go to quarterback hell
actually that might be the best possible place for him to go. Maybe he can be the guy to break the curse. He has already proven he can make lemons from lemonade...

Lets be real, the situation in Cleveland with QB's has been more about them being bad evaluators of QB talent/mental makeup, than the fact Cleveland is a terrible place. They have consistently reached on potential instead of going after the package. in Dobbs they have a guy unlike any they have tried. A guy with the mental capacity to get it done and a lot more of the physical capabilities than folks give him credit for.

I honestly think if Dobbs is given the chance he can be a tony romo, russell wilson, tom brady type underdog. I honestly think he is capable of having a Donovan Mcnabb level of success in the pros. He is probably the safest "upside" pick in the history of the NFL.

Hope they both excel. Peterman got a bad deal here and turned out to be good QB.

This is a long way of saying a lot of people on this board are ignorant in terms of how to properly evaluate football play. And I agree with that.

It doesn't matter, his reputation was ruined at the University of Tennessee and no one would have backed him, regardless if he stayed, or didn't. He was atrocious while at UT, though.

I didn't see anything about Dobbs from yesterday's practice and read a lot of reports about Tuesday standouts. He apparently didn't. Just saw one observer say that Peterman has been the best QB on either side--not great but making some plays. I think that was based on Tuesday, mostly.

Does Pitt have a full time QB coach? I am not trolling I was just wondering if that may have helped Petermam

So because Dobbs beat out Peterman, Peterman got a bad deal?

He was given an opportunity and he did not perform well. Maybe he wasn't ready - but we live in a world where freshman right out of high school step out on the field and play well.

Do you think when and if he gets to the NFL that if he blows any opportunity he gets he will get a second chance because he wasn't ready?

And honestly I don't have a problem with Peterman doing well - but the "he got a bad deal" talk drives me crazy. Joshua Dobbs earned the starting QB role at Tennessee.

Peterman would have never played much at Tennessee. He saw the writing on the wall and went somewhere else.

Different people have different opinions.

There were plenty of people raving about Dobbs yesterday and today.
