2001 we were close, we almost won it ainges sr. year(sec). I know we didn't win them but we were playing in the game. We almost beat the NC LSu if it weren't for a pick 6. Would you not take us making the SECCG every 3rd year right now? Thats about how it was.

Well, honestly, if he comes in and hires 5 great coaches and pulls in a generous amount of donations (What I would consider the equivalent of winning 5 games as an interim coach) while we're searching for a new AD, then I don't really see the reason to complain, do you?

yeah I was there. However we still ended that season with no conf title, having been whipped by UF and bama and was also followed up with a 5-7 season. Not what I call success

The same people that wanted Fulmer fired as the football coach are the same ones making the decision on the next AD.

I can't see it being Fulmer.

In 01 we were outcoached and beaten by an inferior team, and I could care less about coming in second place in the SECCG.

never said that was a requirement but a UT coach should not follow up a NC with a decade-long drought

Then he appoints Gruden to AD.

No thanks - no Phil. The staff would be too expensive. He would have to hire both Cut and Chief back to tell him what to do.

Thanks I couldn't keep up with the thread. lol I look back on it and yes we had 2 bad bad years but We won 9 games i believe that year. Crompton was his death wish tho IMO. we needed a good leader to help save him and it was bad timing with him.

You don't, deservedly so, fire your HC and then a few years later hire him as AD. Now that would be stupid.

The man can't even get a another coaching job and now we're supposed to hire him as an AD? Get real.

That should be all you need to know.
