Peyton / Tee

How many does Marino have? Brady is better than Manning cause he has more.
Brady’s bested Manning in many statistical categories and won’t retire until he’s ahead of him in all the passing stats. Will likely finish second to Brees in those. As a longtime Manning apologist, the talking point that made me concede is that besides all the Super Bowl wins, the man is never out of those losses. No one pulling for him to lose let out their breath until that last pass to Gronk against Philly was dropped. Falcons had him buried and he freakin won! There are no Seattle Seahawks or New York Jets beatdowns to reference like we have with Peyton. You OUTLAST Brady and you exhaust your stock of holy water doing so. 😖

Exactly what is dumb?
The idea that Brady having more rings makes him a better QB than Manning. Brady is fantastic under pressure, but has largely benefited from Belicheck and balanced teams around him. Manning is undoubtedly a better QB, but played on lesser capable teams and staffs. Rings aren’t the sole determining factor.

I wish you were right. You’re not.

You mean that Tee’s offense was more balanced because he couldn’t run a passing attacking as well as Peyton? If so, then I agree.
Tee was a weapon. Auburn players were quoted saying that it was more difficult to prepare for us because of Tee was a threat to break a big run on any play. By no definition was he a "better qb," but that shouldn't diminish the fact of how good he was as a college football player.

Did you just wake up?

Nothing. Failed attempt to tell you that conversation was in every color font but black and I didn't think I needed to tell you that.
I saw what YOU were doing but I actually weighed in on the subject.

Tee did exactly what he was supposed to do in having the team succeed, which of course was a wonderful thing to watch. However, holding Tee up as being particularly special at the position, especially compared to Manning, is problematic at best.

Under Manning UT was 6th nationally in passing, 52nd in rushing and 4th in total offense in '97. In '98 we were 73rd in passing, 17th in rushing and 32nd in total offense. Individually Manning accounted for 39 total td's vs Tee's 26 and had nearly 1400 more total yards.

On the other side of the ball the defense went from 32nd in both total and scoring defense to 17th in total and 9th in scoring defense at a measly 14.4 ppg. In '98 UT's D also forced an amazing 33 turnovers...among the best in the country.

Tee is, and should always be, a Vol hero for the part he played in '98. Manning is literally a legend of the game above and beyond the loyalties of any fan base.

I'm saying that the offense was not as balanced with Peyton.

Peyton: Had 153 carries for a total of -181 yards. Yes, that's minus yards.
Tee: Had 204 carries for 614 yards.

We had to pass a zillion times a game with Peyton.

Love them both, but with Tee's running, it did change the dynamic.

He also broke NCAA passing records in 99.

Has anyone seen Peyton come out and say that he fully supports Tee?

You'd think that Peyton would be pumped up.
