Peterman

Peterman did better than 90% of us a-holes on VN

He got to play for UT

And if any of us a-holes had performed like Nathan has we'd get the same criticism he has gotten. 4 of 11 for 5 yds and 2 ints and a fumble is 4 of 11 for 5 yds and 2 ints and a fumble ....no matter what name is on the back of the jersey.

I agree that Dobbs is much better with THIS team. Another team, like Arkansas, that can block and has a power running game, who knows?

I honestly don't know what Dobbs would do. But NP panics under pressure. That doesn't play well in any system for any program in the SEC.

Hopefully he can overcome it and play well if he's needed. But iirc, this was a problem for Nate in practice when they cut the D loose too.

If I ever wanted to play QB again in college besides clean up duty, I'd transfer too. I'm sure he would thrive at a d2 school (no offense to Peterman).

He [Peterman] has been in some tough situations without many successful outings to draw from, because he has not gotten to play against lesser teams to build confidence. That is my only point. He does not deserve the hatred that he receives from forum idiots.

If you are implying that Dobbs got to play against lesser teams starting out to build his confidence, I disagree.

Peterman's first game action was in 2013 against Austin Peay, as a RS freshman.

Dobbs' first game action, in 2013 as a true freshman, was at #1 Alabama. The next week, he starts at #10 Missouri (SEC-E champ), and the following week, he gets his first home start against SEC-W champ and national Runner-Up Auburn. Following that, it was a Vanderbilt team that went on to win 9 games.

I believe NP to be a quality person, but I also believe he got a fair look (especially in spring ball) to win the job. Unfortunately for him, the coaches went with a different player each season.

Very well said. A lot of posters have stated that Peterman was "thrown into the fire" because his first start was at Florida....in his 2nd year as a college qb and after having appeared in the first 3 games of the season. As you've documented, Dobbs actually had it much worse as a true freshman and he performed much better. Facts just are what they are.

A sign that we're on the way back up.

No offense to him... he hasn't been very good. That's putting it nicely.

Hope it works out for everyone.

What most fans don't know or probably care is Peterman knew the offense about as good as anyone on the team...and one of our most committed players...gave everything he had to this program...and I agree....EVERY situation he was thrown into was not the best situation for him....and you never heard a single WORD....not one...of complaint or dissatisfaction from him....I wish this kid nothing but the best and I think you'll see him walking the sidelines someday soon coaching on a very high level....Just an incredible kid from an extremely classy family...Thanks Nate...

Peterman is going to play in the NFL one day.

I don't think anyone disputes one word that you wrote. Agree 100%. His knowledge of the offense, his good play in practice and his commitment to the program just hasn't shown to translate to good play on gameday, which at the end of the day is the goal. Wish him the best.

Peterman was always a high character, quality young man who represented the program well. If he does transfer, I wish him the best and hope he finds a team that will allow him to close out his career on a positive note. The fact that he has graduated and is enrolled in grad school speaks for his determination and values. He has always been a VFL.

As a QB, I always felt that his one shortcoming was that he was slow in making reads and decisions. That always left him vulnerable to the pass rush. He had all the tools, arm strength, height, speed/ quickness, and leadership. But in the SEC, QBs must find targets and release the ball quickly.

I hate wars against imaginary enemies. Late in this thread, there was 1 or 2 harsh posts but the 'protect Nate' thing was already happening by then.
The overwhelming majority thanked Nate and wished him well

KBVOL
was one of the first to be qustioned about his comments.
Below is the first comment he made that was questioned

Kid graduated early, by all accounts was a tireless worker and a great teammate. I was hoping he would end up a grad assistant here. Who knows at this point, nothing official. I agree with you....this kid has done everything the right way and will be a success at life....his lack of success on the playing field will have little to no impact on that.

If anyone can see a reason to be offended by this post, apparently, you are reading something into this that the rest of us aren't.

I always thought, since he enrolled for the Spring semester, and Bajakian said he was on the team, that he'd give it one last go through Spring, and decide after the O/W game.

The guy won't give up. He seems to have the will to be great. Has a strong arm and a demeanor to be a Favre

There are literally thousands of QBs with good work ethic and strong arms that aren't playing in the NFL. Peterman has never even started and won a game in college and you are comparing him to an all time great QB? Are you trolling?
