Either I wrote it wrong or you read it wrong. I’m not out on Josh Heupel. I think he is one of the best offensive minds in the game. I think he is a good head coach. But I think there are some details that come along with being a head coach that Josh needs to work on. This is why I think a GM would help quite a bit. I also think Josh needs to replace his defensive coordinator and let that defensive coordinator pick his assistants. We can agree to disagree. At the outset of the season, most of those now growling about “necessary changes” were predicting an 8-4 or 7-5 record for these Vols (with everyone healthy). The consensus was that 2025 was a throw away year.
Now, nine games into the season, with the Vols being the only 3-loss team in the CFP rankings, it’s “self-evident” that there must be changes to the coaching staff for the Vols to meet the expectations of the fans. Nodding in agreement with each other, the self-anointed poobahs proclaim that, with the money being spent, the Vols should be competing for the national title every year. The fevered few seek to infect the many.
All around you is evidence of programs imploding due to this kind of thinking. How many P4 head coaches have been fired? How many of those programs are going to improve with their next coaching hire? How many will be competing for the national championship every year? None. Oh, but there will be chaos…
Hope? CFB is hope eternal. If you lose that aspect of it, it will become soulless.
Danny White and Josh Heupel are the best AD and head football coach that Tennessee has had in a very long time. Their decision making may not be perfect, but it’s better than that of any of the spoiled fans grumbling for changes. I pray that no one in the administration gives any heed to the lot of you. I pray that you snap out of it, have an epiphany, or whatever brings you back to being a true fan of the Tennessee Volunteers with the perspective to find fulfillment and joy in doing so, even when our teams lose a tough one.
No offense intended, but I trust the judgement of Danny White and Josh Heupel over yours and the other armchair experts flooding VN with their takes on the UT football program.Either I wrote it wrong or you read it wrong. The difference between good and great is attention to detail. The devil, as we know, lies in the details. Josh needs to get better at those details. And he needs to learn how to make hard decisions when hard decisions need to be made.
That’s what I meant.
Fair enough. The future judges us all equally based on the choices and decisions we make. I always say I’m wrong a lot, so neither one of us should be surprised if I’m wrong here.No offense intended, but I trust the judgement of Danny White and Josh Heupel over yours and the other armchair experts flooding VN with their takes on the UT football program.
Not demanding anything, just posting my opinion, same as most everyone else here.I am slightly amused by those like you who demand a change at DC one year removed from having a nationally recognized defense.
Dodging behind semantics. Showing your true colors. Not demanding anything, just posting my opinion, same as most everyone else here.
And like I said a ways back, the future will judge us all equally. I'm wrong a lot, but confident at this moment that I can see what needs to change.
Let's see what 2026 brings. I could not care less about "internet cred". I come here to read and share opinions.
Go Vols.
For reasons unknown to me, you seem to have singled me out for your personal venom. I'll have no part of it. I stand by, and behind, my words.Dodging behind semantics. Showing your true colors.
You’re not that important, and as you’ve demonstrated with that take, your judgement is suspect. Spent a little too much time “under the surface.”For reasons unknown to me, you seem to have singled me out for your personal venom. I'll have no part of it. I stand by, and behind, my words.
No need to reply...you will anyway...but I'll not see another word you post here, or on VN. You have roughly 6,000 posts/year average over 10+ years. That works out to about 17 posts per day, 365 days a year. The very definition of an internet troll.
Get a life.
That's good.“Michigan Man”
(sung to the tune of “Missionary Man”)
Well, he was born an original sinner
He was born from that Michigan sin
And if he had a dollar bill for all the things he’d done
There'd be a mountain of money piled up to his chin (hey)
Jim Harbaugh told him good, Jim Harbaugh told him strong
He said, get a nice quiet side piece and you can't go wrong
But there's just one thing that you must understand
You can fool with another…
But don't mess with a Michigan fan
Don't mess with a Crazy Girl, man
Don't mess with a Michigan fan
Don't mess with a Crazy Girl, man
Oh, the Michigan man, he's got at least one on the side
He's got the boosters and his coaches backin' up from behind
Black eyed looks from those college crooks
He's a man with a hard-on and an arrogant mind
There was a woman in his office and a booster on Line 3
The Michigan, he was followin' me
He said, "Stop what you're doing,
Get down upon your knees
I've got dictation for you that you better believe"
Don't ask, we're in the know
Oh baby (don't mess with a Michigan fan)
Leave him alone now (Michigan fan)
Don't you mess with him, no, no (Michigan man)
(Michigan fan)
Don't mess with a crazy girl, man (don't you mess with that, man)
(Michigan man)
