He is AD as long as he wants. He was hired for $575,000 yearly, plus all the perks coaches have. His contract has no time period, it is AT WILL, meaning unless he leaves on his own or is fired, he's here for the long hall.

hey goofy fulmer, you could get Kiffin for 2,5 mil with the chance for a huge raise if and when he makes good (wins & stays for at least 3 years).

He is a really good coach, but seems to be a west coast guy. I think CPF might be leery of no SEC experience (including recruiting) at all.

Petersen makes 4.8 a year and his record is 129-28 he only lost 12 Games at Boise state he was freaking 92-12 at Boise state he had a 13-0 season and a 14-0 season . He had 3 12-1 seasons . At Washington he went 8-6 7-6 12-2 and 10-2 this year. 129-28 .. the only thing is he is a offense coach thought Fulmer wanted a defensive coach with sec experience but if Fulmer can get him 7 million a year will maybe get him

Coach Fulmer is at least giving his best for Tennessee once again, even if he is not successful in getting Petersen, he is not afraid to try which is more that pencil neck Currie ever did.

The fact that Fulmer may even get an interview with Peterson makes me take back any negative thoughts I had towards the guy last week.

I would say (quite confidently) that Chris Petersen is the best coach in college football who hasn't won a National Championship. If he was at a school he could recruit talent to, I believe he'd be in the running very quickly.

I think that we might be underestimating the impact of hiring Fulmer as AD and how much it shows that UT is committed to turning our football program around. It is going to be very attractive to coaches to be able to work for a guy that is a very respected former coach. One of the biggest pro/cons for a HC is their working relationship with an AD and being able to trust that they will get the support that they want/need from said AD. Sounds like Fulmer wasn't just pumping sunshine when he said that he expected that previously uninterested candidates would be on the table now. A program with all that UT has to offer with a guy like Fulmer running the show is a very attractive situation now...especially to coaches who are having or have had frustrations with their current Athletic Departments.

Tennessee has no state income tax.

$7M goes a LOT further in Tennessee than it does other places
