If he gets Petersen, you make Fulmer AD as long as he wants. That would be an amazing hire! One thing I will say, Fulmer is going at it! And he also has a confidence I didn't feel with Currie or Hart.

Perhaps Fulmer is smart and gauging with them to see if they fit the UT culture for the long haul. Like any professional would do.

Pump the brakes people. Petersen has been a non starter for a lot of quality job openings, particularly those East of the Rockies.

If Fulmer could get Petersen, I'd give Dingbat Beverly a tougue lashing that will make her toes curl

but its safe to say I don't have to worry about it.

Chris Petersen would be considered a grand slam hire now for any program. If Fulmer could pull him under the current conditions, it might earn him a statue outside Neyland. If he goes the DC route, Pruitt and Venables would definitely be my top two.

I am not a fan of Kitten back at UT, however, we will probably see him in the SEC again.

He needs at least one more year down at FIU but someone will take a chance and kitten will succeed, until the sanctions come. It could be different but thats how I see it playing out. Maybe the next bammer coach?

Petersen's name keeps popping up, even before Currie was let go. IIRC back on Black Friday LWSVOL was intimating that there were some discussions going on with Petersen and that he was a real possibility. From what we know now Currie clearly wasn't involved in those, so maybe another booster faction more closely aligned with Fulmer?

Wait a minute, I thought the questions were " who the hell does Tennessee think they are?" and "what top name coach would want to go there?" Just getting a meeting with Petersen is enough to serve that crow up nice and hot.

Fulmer is doing the job the way it should have been done from the start. He will walk away with a sense of the interest of the candidates as well as his impression of their fit.

I don't think he's going to be like a pimple faced kid being rejected by one girl for his prom date.

LWS is a personal friend of Fulmer's I believe. It's also well known that he posts things he hears on message boards. Could have been another one of those leaks, like this one could be, that have very little basis in actual events but are to make certain people look good or bad.

If Fulmer actually gets to interview Peterson, he needs to throw the max at him and let him know that's the top dollar the school will give and give him max money for assistants too. It may be a lot of money, but that's the name of the game these days.
