Pearl Ripped...

I wouldn't call it "ripped". They all had legitimate points and even Bilas said, "reasonable minds can differ."

If I was the AD at Duke or UNC and BP was the coach I probably fire him because of the history of the program and the ability to hire an elite coach, BUT the people with power at UT have shown us they only know how to hire clowns when it comes to BB. They got lucky with Pearl. If something else comes out I would fire him. College BB is so dirty and coaches they suck up to cheat at different levels. It's all ridiculous.

The UT job is much more attractive now than it was seven years ago. Ill even give Pearl his credit for that. But for the money we are capable of paying and all things considered, we won't have to take the chance on some "clown."

It has to do with the inconsistency of the NCAA in these cheating matters. The reason they didn't come down on Auburn or Ohio State is that it would cost them bowl game revenues in the form of loss of interest that would effect the TV ratings. So they have made BP their scapegoat IMHO.

People that lie to them make it very easy to be their scapegoat.

See above post. He says he would fire him because it is hurting the program. What he doesn't understand is at Duke you can fire the coach and keep on rolling. At UT it is highly doubtful they will get it right. It could hurt UT BB more to fire Pearl? Most fans are still behind him. Unless they continue to struggle.

They were fair. But I considered it a rip. As did everyone in the room with me.

BP is not the program, not above the program and didn't invent the program. The sooner the entire fan base realizes that the better everyone will be.

If you agree with Bilas, the program is going down with Pearl. Not sure money will overcome that....it's not like Indiana has figured it out yet.

Good point. But BP did come clean on his own. The only reason to consider keeping him. "yea without sin cast the first stone" sort of thing.

how do you know that? Duke hasn't had to fire K. Look at other elites that went through coaching carousels? Kentucky struggled, UCLA is still struggling, UNC has struggled (with the only exception being Floppy T carrying Roy for a bit), Michigan imploded, do you want me to go on?

He came clean after the damage had been done and after coaxed. The conscience part of the equation won't carry a bit of water with the 'AA.

He came clean because he was about to get busted, not any doing of his own. You're silly to believe otherwise.

I didn't agree with everything he said. But if this thing gets dirtier, which many believe it will, then Mike Hamilton and the AD have played rush and roulette with the program.

I can't wait to see the Pearlophiles live up to Chris Fowler's standards for UT fans when Bilas comes in here next week and says the same things to the fanbase's face.

Will be embarrassing. Just another night at TBA, though.

NY, It is clear to me you have your opinion on BP. I have mine. I don't fire him at TN because of all the money he has made. Bad business move to me. I don't care if I even like who is coaching. I really don't. It's all about winning games and putting out an entertaining product. Coaches really aren't saints. We all know if BP gets fired they will hire some unproven guy less than they are paying Dooley. They aren't going to go after an elite proven coach. You wouldn't see Jay Wright or someone like that. You just won't.

Nobody in the history of college athletics has ever relished playing the role of the heel more than Robert Montgomery Knight. If he's here next week, we'll find out exactly how he feels about Pearl's situation. If he thinks as Bilas does, expect an all out nuking of Tanning Bed.

You are a clown, and clearly someone that doesn't understand how bad the UT bball history is. BP is not the program but he has taken it to much greater heights than ever before. The grass isn't always greener, see the hiring of Lane Kiffin for that.

I've sat through many games that I wanted to put a bag over my head. Don't spill the savior bs to me.

And change your screen name. That's an abomination to the General.

I would imagine he will be there. Some of the worshipers need to be on suicide watch, if so.
