Pat Martin Transferring

Do you think CDD wanted to Redshirt him and he wasn't too happy about it?

That sounds plausible. However, Dooley doesn't designate redshirts till November.

It doesn't make a lot of sense because Martin could easily be starting by 2013, or even 2012 with Brewer at his spot

Couldn't crack early playing time and some talented db's coming in next year. Probably not a bad move for him. As others have said, some kids can't handle the adjustment to being away from home. Add in not playing after being a bmoc, and you have an issue. Freshmen students get homesick all the time.

There was a big class of DBs and it looks like most were ahead of him. May have realized he may never get much playing time.

Is it because he's not in the two deep. Randolph and Wilks are ahead of him, plus Mc Neil will be here next year to push him even harder for playing time.

WOW, he didn't last wrong and was probably the most avid recruiter of anyone in this last class. Odd

Some kids aren't ready for the big show. He was a talent that was going to have to be developed and was having a hard time adjusting in the mean time. Unfortunate for him, but if Dooley is letting him go with his blessing, then I will too. I hope we don't end up missing him down the road, but with the way we are recruiting DB, we should be more than fine. What is more unfortunate is that we burned a scholly offer on a kid who didn't hold up his end, thus taking that chance from someone who might have earned it. Hopefully, it's not too late to give that scholarship to someone else.

Trimming the fat? Maybe a new way of cutting loose players that aren't going to be as productive as they hoped?

When do we get the "Dooley's 2011 class=worse class ever" thread?

I think he was a 4 star. Was he beaten out by other true freshman that were 3 star? Shocked if so.

Coleman was a 4. Randolph not being a 4 was the biggest joke in the history of Rivals. Martin held offers from Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas, UCLA, and South Carolina ---not bad.

I am not buying this! Everybody knows that star rankings are deadly accurate. No way a 3 could beat out a 4. Just not possible.

I'm sure Pat greatly appreciates that.
