Pat Martin Transferring

More than likely. For this season, this means almost nothing.

I guess what I'm getting at is that JJ is gone and now we're taking another hit on defense. How this new development affects our depth is my concern. Hope we can get a few guys to really step up and take advantage of a new opportunity.

Dang, This sucks.

If it's a family issue, more power to him. If it's a playing time/depth chart issue, more power to him--he had as much time as the other frosh to prove himself. Not really seeing this as a big deal, barring some sort of family issue for him. Good luck to him either way.

You just made a sarcastic jab at someone in regards to Martin, then responded to a question with an answer that made zero sense. You are on a roll.

I forgot a word. Please forgive. The guy that I responded to understood what I was saying.

Tough morning?

Doesn't seem like it will hurt us this year. Allows for another take next year. Not too bad.

I think he was a 4 star. Was he beaten out by other true freshman that were 3 star? Shocked if so.
You think Dooley finally realized this and gave him his walking papers?

Seriously, best of luck to the kid and let's leave it at that.

He was a 4* that couldn't crack the 3 deep. I may be wrong on that ,but I am pretty sure he didn't make the 3 deep. And already getting recruited over.

Nope. Just funny to see someone be a smartass to somebody else, then write something that makes no sense soon thereafter. Now followed by defensiveness and more sarcasm.
And you are forgiven.

Let' see. I forgot a word (which I later corrected). Not giving somebody's blessing for someone I've never met because the head coach said it was a mutual decision.

Yeah. Same difference and all that stuff.

I don't like the queezy feeling in my stomach when young talented players decide to up and leave, regardless of depth chart position...

Agree. It's not going to make any impact on this year, and we can have someone else fill his spot.

Plus, it seems that the staff was having a tough time deciding on safety or linebacker for him (although it seems he would be a perfect candidate for the rover position).

Couple the fact that he was going to red shirt, with talent in place and the talent coming in, a position change might have been in his future, all of that, well it's probably best for him to move on. Wish he could've run through the T once.

If I had to randomly project a ceiling for him, it would've been a thomas davis-ish role in his Georgia days. Not a "linebacker" build but able to take on blocks and cover.

Granted, that doesn't matter at all now.

Good call.

Nope. Hopefully Pat lands on his feet somewhere and does well.

I have total confidence in this coach and this coaching staff. If a player leaves, it's in our programs best interest.

Better players, who's blood runs orange, are sure to follow.

bring on the Griz!

Then that's why he left. If you say our coaching staff was considering putting a 5'11, under 200 lb true freshman at LB, he probably thought they were trying to kill him.

I do as well. Not that Dooley runs off the players who don't click right away, but I trust that he will find a replacement in this upcoming class. We will have more fresh faces making an impact next year.
