Over-coached...???

So I've seen it posted a couple of places and now the term is popping in a couple of 'expert picks' columns as well.
Is this team's problem that it is just over-coached?

Did Pruitt, Chaney, Tee, Weinke, Ansley, and all the rest try to force too much into the scheme during the off season?
This would make the players think too much about what they are doing, or trying to do, and forget the fundamental basics of good football.

Could it really be that simple and CJP just needs to let these guys play ball?

I think it is even more simple than you think. This team sucks.

I figured the OP would get blasted for this one, but I was thinking the same thing.

Pruitt always talks about constantly coaching the players. Held them in the locker room for extra time against Georgia State for "adjustments".

Things sound more complicated the more you talk about them and when you try to teach every single miniscule detail.

I think we've absolutely got some players dealing with "paralysis by analysis".

The last decent defenses we've had here were under Jancek. And he basically ran the same 3 plays.

You’ve got two types players on this team which are problematic: 1)experienced players that sometimes don’t care and take plays off 2)young and inexperienced players who make mistakes and are confused at times.

I’m not saying Pruitt is elite or terrible but I will say I’ve seen Saban have some misalignments and problems when he first took over teams. Those problems were addressed quicker but I think we’re in a little deeper hole as far as talent, conditioning, and attitude currently.

They were perfectly coached midway through spring. If the season started then, we’d have won. Come August, the team was over-cooked and flat out ruint. We’re pretty much char and smoke now. Time to scape out the pan.

Maybe JG, but probably not the others. Almost certain Pruitt and co would establish fundamentals and execution with the freshmen before moving on to strategy. This isn't their first rodeo as coaches.

Your avatar and condescending comments are like nails on a chalkboard. Not that you prob care, but my guess is you're not well liked irl.
That is a very unladylike and unchristian post to be sure. For the sake of not sacrificing dignity delving into arguments in what it obviously a spoiled brat though I wish you a true measure of peace into what it otherwise a bitter demeanor.

I'm not religious. Unladylike? So you're sexist and condescending? Thanks for proving my point. I was hoping you'd come up with a logical response, but your baseless spoiled brat comment killed it. Not sure where you got that correlation. I'm not bitter, just not a fan of arrogance. Seems to be a pattern with you so I pointed it out. That's all.

Calling out an "unladylike" person is "sexiest" hey. Calm down, you are proving my point obviously because you're the one who is flipping out and throwing around ad hominems.

It just had a tisk-tisk outdated vibe to it. Fyi, I'm calm, amused actually. I agree though, I can be a real b****. In all seriousness, every comment I've seen from you in these threads has that mocking tone. I just had to know if you are really that way or just that sarcastic.

Alright, in that context with me 99% of the time the connotation is sarcasm, BUT if someone wants to tangle then the gloves come off. As far as being amused I got you beat there too because you just found out that you generated this excitement for nothing. ;)

You may not be religious, but we probably gonna need divine intervention to win a game this season😄

Eh not really. I enjoy sparking debate for my own amusement sometimes.
