A rival coach anonymously trash talking? Oh the horror!


Im disappointed though. Here I thought we had 2 really good options (both will be better than Dobbs imo) at QB and a RB that averaged over 6ypc last year and now im finding out we dont have a QB OR a RB and our defense will be bad.

Just cancel the season I guess.

You've made one huge assumption that is almost certainly wrong:

No one said these were head coaches being quoted.

There are probably a ton of position coaches, coordinators, and so on who are willing to (anonymously) trash other teams' head coaches.

And it wouldn't surprise me too much if it were revealed that one or two of our own position coaches got in on the game regarding the other programs.

What's not very good is we haven't won ten games since '07. Some of the comments are spot on irregardless of their source.

It's not like a rival coach would ever say anything good about Butch. Of course it's going to be something negative. They have some good points in there but it's pretty much the obvious.

p.s. If they were saying good things about him, if they're trying to help him keep his job, isn't THAT when we should be more worried? :)

How good they are at QB is still in question. Saying they "don't have a QB" is pretty silly. The RB comment was just flat out stupid. There is a "known" there and he has been pretty good when given the chance. Behind him some questions exist.

Agree with this on all points.

"Tennessee hasn't won 10 games (since 2007). No way they should go 10 years at Tennessee and not win 10-11 games. No way. That's an indictment on the coaches, the school, the president. You have the resources, the fan passion, the stadium, the financial commitment."

Opposing coach says "Butch pays too much attention to the media".

Opposing coach tells media that Tennessee coaches, president and school basically sucks.

Hope whatever they thought it might do, backfires.

Some parts are true, but saying we don't have a runningback shows this anonymous source is more concerned with talking trash than actually doing legitimate research. How can you claim you know what you're talking about and completely disregard John Kelly? Also, Butch and the media have had a, shall we say, troubled relationship. But, to claim he's more concerned about them than actually doing his job is idiotic.

It would be like firing Fulmer all over again and our AD hiring another Dooley. I'm not a Butch supporter but if we seriously have fans wanting to fire him if we win 10 games, they should get professional help.

Try telling John Kelly or Q Dormady we do not have a QB or RB. I Expect both of these guys to have solid seasons.

I can't imagine why this source would give a rats arse about supporting Jones.

**Side note: I only posted this thread to enjoy the utter choas and uproar that was bound to unfold. I thought the comments were hilarious, though some of which I can agree with. However, to say we have no RB or no QB this year is absolutely laughable.
