I need a builder opinion. I'm going to build a quick and easy deck in the next month. Nothing fancy, just something to get me off the ground and have a place for the grill and a few chairs. I know the right way to build a deck with all the fancy trimmings, but, for my temporary purpose I'm doing an 8'X8' no frills. I plan on using 6X6 or 8X8 layed out parallel to the ground for support. They'll be leveled with flat stones under each end. 2X4's will be the planking. Do you think 3 of the support timbers are enough for this span or should I get four?
