The way you describe this, I'm picturing building an 8X8 box supported on the corners with stone and then planking across the 2X5 joists. Sound close? How many joists?

You will need 5 2x6 joist inside the box set on 16in centers.

I like the hardy brand because you can cut the with a hand saw.
Go to Lowes or home depot they will be with the concrete supplies.

Cut your 2x6's and 2 of your 2x8's to 93 inches that way you decking will fit exactly and you will not have to rip down a deck board.
