me tooI miss @MAD
Why?I’ve seen the rumors online suggesting she could still be considering TN and all I’m going to tell you is she is not, and will never be a Lady Vol.
Why?
If her “dream” was to be a LV, and she left because, well, we didn’t have a team, why not consider us again when we seem to be putting together what could be (on paper) a competitive team if we add a strong inside presence?
Is it burned bridges, lack of confidence in the talent being assembled, lack of faith in the coaches, or more money/opportunities elsewhere?
( Not doubting you here, just curious for more info on the background for your statement.)
That would make sense, if that was a coach with whom she had grown close.I’m not going to say much bc I get accused of being too negative, so I’ve been off this forum. Here’s all I’ll say: The coach is the coach. The players are the players. The season will be whatever it turns out to be.
With Edwards the water is under the bridge. She was not pleased with the very public attempt by Vol fans to tarnish Lazo.
In the world of soccer fandom, there is a phrase for fans who hold on to irrational beliefs that their team will benefit from some very unlikely, near miraculous, scenario materializing--- "hopeium". It can be quite addictive, At some point, this board may need an intervention,I’m not going to say much bc I get accused of being too negative, so I’ve been off this forum. If Austin Price said this about O then we are talking to her and she is at least listening. It has been reported by AtoZ sports which is notorious for fabricating the truth for clicks. I would have to hear what AP actually said.In the world of soccer fandom, there is a phrase for fans who hold on to irrational beliefs that their team will benefit from some very unlikely, near miraculous, scenario materializing--- "hopeium". Meh. Don't let that stop you from posting. People accuse me of negativity all the time. I have opinions. I express them. It's what message boards are all about.I’m not going to say much bc I get accused of being too negative, so I’ve been off this forum. Here’s all I’ll say: The coach is the coach. I wouldn’t consider her “being burned” she made the choice to step away. Rosters get up ended all the time no matter what school it is or how that school’s season ended. You either choose to follow thru with your commitments or you don’t. She could’ve stayed. & made her way on this team & been the biggest star with a solid supporting cast or go to an already made roster & ride their coattails. It is what it is.
I think she gas great talent and knows how to play the game. She would be an asset to any team. Take her if you can get her.I get where you’re coming from but even if this player had stayed committed I don’t see it as a guarantee she would’ve been the star on this team with the players added. We are equating dunking with basketball skill. I went on record saying this was the worse McDAAG cast I’ve ever watched during the game. Oliviyah scored 8 points and had 9 rebounds in that game. She will have many nights in college where having those stats will be a stretch. It wouldn’t surprise me if only 1 or 2 players out of the 2026 class had a decent freshman season. Edwards doesn’t need Tennessee, and obviously Tennessee doesn’t need Edwards. She can only hope to have half the career that Kaylene Smikle and Fatmata Janneh have as they enter their senior years. Both players are way ahead of Edwards and should be due to experience but saying she would be a star & those players the supporting cast was grossly inaccurate. She first needs to figure out how to decide on a school and then start maturing for the college game.
KLU, I agree with you...In the all star game, she looked nothing like an allstar.....She should have passed on playing that game.I get where you’re coming from but even if this player had stayed committed I don’t see it as a guarantee she would’ve been the star on this team with the players added. Fun catch!!!! But not surprising, KLU has been trolling the board with hyperbolic claims for some time now. It is a weird hobby. I have suspected that this account might be Darth's doppelganer persona. But it is so repetitive in the language and argument structure that it might be a troll bot. Make that an an "elite" troll bot.The comedy in this form writes itself. And I present the head writer. Just stop. You make Jumper look like John Wooden.
Title of the article says it all “generational”. The recruiting at Tennessee under CKC in 20 months is the best ever seen by a new coach/staff. Oliviyah Edwards is one of the best to come through the HS ranks in years. Elite defensive player. Elite offensive player. Day 1 starter. GBO.
