I must say I've noticed among the young women who (understandably) cry "patriarchy" or "toxic masculinity" at certain scenes in vintage movies... don't seem to get quite as triggered when its Cary Grant or William Holden.
Anything Babe Ruth is legendary imo. People want to diminish his accomplishments because of the era he played in but the way I look at it, he was just so much better than anyone else whenever he played and it wasn’t even a debate. You can’t compare players of different eras because so much has changed. We drove to Chattanooga and toured the Bicentennial Train. It went around the country with artifacts on loan from the Smithsonian. I remember seeing Babe Ruth's bat, Dorothy's ruby slippers and dress and some cool astronaut space stuff. It took a while to go through and there was a lot of stuff I forgot, but Ruth's bat is in my mind's eye now. It was a great day, I hope we have things like that next year for the 250.
