Actually, we have a history of going to wild games, especially in baseball. We don't go to that many games (so far regular season last and this year: 6 games) but those included:
- today
- the Bama game last year when Dollander got hit in the arm and CTV bumped Macias and was ejected. We sat in the LF bleachers and were very close to Macias, 3rd base ump. Kids learned some new words.
- the Ben Joyce 105 game vs Auburn
- Bonus: The Wright state Gilbert walk off grand slam
That’s some good ones to be at!

That bama game I took my whole group of graduate students (10 people). Most of them had never been to a baseball or Tennessee game and are sitting there right next to Macias after he tossed TV. Talk about baptism by fire!

You were at the Flutie game, weren’t you?

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer. Any of these guys could be on the list.
Stan Musial
Ted Williams
Mickey Mantle
Hell, there’s not a player in the history of MLB that played harder than Pete Rose!

I agree with no wrong answer or right answer much like what is the meaning of life which has no conclusive right answer while information involving facts including what movie director directed The Terminator movie, what is the exact score of the historic Super Bowl when the Giants defeated a Patriots team that was 1 victory away from completing a perfect NFL Season in the year 2008, what exact team Sport did Michael Jordan play when he retired the 1st time in his NBA Player career, what is the exact real name of Joker in the serious dark toned super hero movie (1989) Batman, what is the goal of the cursed Pirates in the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl, etc.

On March 8 in Baseball History...
  • 1900 - In New York, the N.L. meets, voting to shrink to eight teams. They pay the Baltimore owners $30,000 for their franchise, with Charles Ebbets and Ned Hanlon reserving the right to sell the players. Cleveland, Louisville, and Washington receive $10,000 each, with Louisville owner Barney Dreyfuss sending most of his players to his Pittsburgh team. The circuit will remain the same until the Boston Braves move to Milwaukee in 1953.

  • 1913 - The Federal League is organized as a six-team outlaw circuit and elects John T. Powers president. It will play 120 games at a level equivalent to the lower minor leagues, but will enhance its status considerably in 1914 to challenge the major leagues.

  • 1923 - Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis allows former Giants left-handed pitcher Rube Bentonto return to the N.L.. Benton had admitted prior knowledge of the 1919 World Series fix, but he remained in baseball, winning 22 for St. Paul (American Association). N.L. President John Heydler disagrees with Landis, calling Benton undesirable, but does not stop the Reds from signing him. Benton, 35, will be 14-10 for the second-place Reds.

  • 1930 - Babe Ruth signs a two-year contract for $160,000 with New York. At $80,000 per year, he is the highest paid player of all time as of 1930.

  • 1966 - The Hall of Fame Special Veterans Committee waives election rules and inducts Casey Stengel, recently retired manager of the Mets.

  • 1985 - Dave Stieb, the ace of the Toronto staff for the past five seasons, signs an 11-year contract that could be worth up to $25 million with deferred payments and incentives. He would pitch only another six full seasons.
