So, I’m enjoying a little extra time in The Dugout today. Tell me guys, and ladies, where is Tennessee baseball as it stands today relative to what you thought it would be 10 games into the season?

Considering that they didn’t have 2 of their veteran stud transfers in Ahuna and Merritt for the West Coast opening weekend tourney, they have surpassed my expectations. This team is extremely talented, has the deepest and best college pitching staff, in well coached, and has the potential to win a natty. I will be happy to make it to Omaha. I’ve learned to enjoy the ride. As a friendly reminder, due to inflated COVID rosters, we will likely never see a team as offensively talented and experienced as the 22 team.

I’d say this years team has a shot. Possibly next years also. Then the recruiting classes kick in…
