I personally think he could be trying to get another raise. I'm skeptical of any qualified winning coach giving us a considerationlol:
ok, i'm going to go all message board on you say "they said the same thing about Spurrier".Mike Gundy is a very good coach. Questions about the defensive side of the ball, but he'd have the resources to make the right hires.
I'd be a bit concerned about the insane amount of money they are offering. Though, more concerned on the "buyout side" than merely the salary. And why weren't they willing to offer that "insane amount of money" to Mullen? Nevertheless, it would be a reasonable hire. The guy has won consistently at a program that has was never great historically before he arrived. I do wonder how his offense will translate to the SEC, but he's also shown an ability to adapt.
If we go from that debacle that we just had and get a guy like Mike Gundy, you can consider that a monster hire. I have mad respect for him as a coach, regardless of the hair. Guy is a winner and his players will run through walls for him, unlike our previous coaches lately.
And don't hate on the mullet. The mullet is never the issue, it's the man it's attached to that can't pull it off.![]()
