Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy interviewed by Currie

Lol... I'll be happy if he's hired but totally discount this as a possibility.

I'm ready for Tee.

Basically a slightly better version of Butch. Great recruiter, great sound bites in the media, teams are good when littered with NFL talent, but ultimately can't ever win the big one. 2-11 vs. Oklahoma and generally preys on the weak B12 South with a down Texas. If Texas ever comes back, OK St. and Gundy will become irrelevant. Pass.

It's not just about bringing in talent, Butch did that, it's about bringing in the RIGHT talent and instilling the right attitude. Miles, Kiffin, and Tee are the only realistically available guys who can do that. Everyone else is varying levels of Butch.

The Big 12 is better than the SEC

Lol! Gundy even answering the phone for us is a minor miracle. We would be the luckiest we've been since the Hail Mary to land a coach like him after this debacle.

why don't we back up a truck and try to get Peterson from Washington?

Currie just tried to hire a coach that would have cost UT almost nothing in Schiano, even though Tennessee is the most profitable program in the SEC, go figure:bash:

I feel like having a guy with a mullet coaching at UT is plenty of fodder for opposing fanbases. Now if he wears a coonskin hat, I'm ok with it.

His haircut is so far down the list of things to make fun of the Vols for.

He knows it is a goofy cut, yet he rocks his "Tennessee Tophat" with confidence. When you do what he has done, you can sport any hairstyle you want.

Not that many don't already but Haslems name needs to be attached to every failure Currie is named for. He's the reason he is here and the reason why UT is where it is.
agreed.

if they havent interviewed or have an interview setup with Les Miles, Kiffin, Frost, Sumlin then there is something wrong.

And add Mike Leach to that list and it's spot on. Sumlin is better than most candidates we're hearing, and gotta atleast give Frost a call with a big offer to see, Kiffin is an obvious backup plan, and Les already let it leak he's possibly interested. Currie is really making me hate him. I like Leach above most of these too. Currie is an idiot

He's had them as a top 10-15 program for the last decade!

Some of you guys really don't understand that it's all but impossible to win a national championship if you're not at one of like 20 (probably less, maybe 10-15) schools. Oklahoma State is not one of those schools. To make Oklahoma State a perennial top 15 program is completely maxing out what that program can do. It's similar to the lack of understanding around here about how Dan Mullen maxed out what Mississippi State could do and (ALERT: Did not want him! Am glad his hiring was torpedoed! Just an example!) Greg Schiano maxed out what Rutgers could do.

This may have been said already, but Gundy signed a new contract and got a raise in Junior July of this year. If he reached out to us, he wants out.
