I have said that IMO the offense could take a step back under Debord. I also have stated my concern over a guy being considered for an OC that hasn't called an offensive play in 8 years. I am also concerned about recruiting. How will the recruits view the hire? Some say that shouldn't be a factor. I believe it should be a HUGE factor. Some say that we shouldn't choose an OC to appease a player (Williams), however losing a recruit like him would hurt Butch's rebuilding efforts a little.

Hey I could be tiotally wrong about everything. Butch may hire someone totally different than anyone here on VN thinks. Then again Debord could come here and our offense be more explosive than we could imagine. If he comes here and does well then I will be the first to admit my stupidity for doubting him. I just don't see it happening. Would you think it's hilarious if Butch hires Debord and continues to lose 6 games a year because the offense is putrid?

If I was an OC candidate I would want to bring in my own position coaches or at least one or two of them just for familiarity. How bad do y'all think this will affect our options at OC being that whoever we get doesn't get to bring in a single one of his own assistants?

You may be correct however what is laughable and shameful about our recent football hires is that it shows the football world what kind of leadership that we have (from the AD to the Administration to the Big Money donors) ---- we have shown a strong unwillingness to make the knock-out hire like Alabama and Michigan (it did take both programs a few chances to finally step up and go big).

I hope Jones takes us back to championship caliber football but year three will be interesting.
