Possibly. Sanford doesn't have the experience that Debord does. Wondering exactly how much control he has over the Boise offense since Harsin is an offensive coach himself? No idea how much of the play calling responsibilities he has though since I don't watch Boise St.

I would think he calls the plays. There is a reason Vanderbilt and Ohio State wanted to hire him. If we don't hire Sanford. I hope Debord and Azzani are Co OC's. I really want Azzani to stay.

I've intentionally stayed away from these threads as much as I can, but...

It seems kind of obvious to me that Butch already has his guy lined up and he's a current college coach somewhere. That's why nothing has been announced yet, waiting till after NSD so whoever he hires doesn't hurt that school's recruiting.

If it was Debord, why would he wait?

So you're saying Butch shouldn't tell the recruits it's Debord ( if it's actually him )? You know, the guy that is going to coach them during the most important time of their playing career?

That would be a pretty ****ty thing to do IMO.

If Butch is concerned about a DeBord announcement now ruining the recruiting class, how does he expect to recruit our next class with this guy on his staff. That's not a shot at DeBord. It just doesn't make sense.

Agreed. It's almost like dating a girl you're ashamed of but eventually have to introduce her. If it is Debord then why wait unless you are concerned about losing recruits and in that case that should tell you it's probably not a good idea.

Right, If. I have no idea who the OC will be.

At this point, we appear to be keeping most of our commits without yet announcing an OC (minus Bussey, but I don't think that had anything to do with our OC). So why risk losing recruit(s) over an OC hire? Unless the OC is a splash hire that could bring additional recruits, why risk it. Specifically, in the case of Debord, he certainly wouldn't be bringing any recruits with him. But at this point, It's too late for any hire to help us in any.

TL;DR It's too late in the game for the announcement to really help, it could only hurt.
