Yep. And what really pisses me off about that is, Butch is basically lying to us. Telling us that it's ongoing and shouldn't last too long into Feb. That's pure BS and he knows it.
He's not interviewing anyone. He's already made his choice from the get-go. This is just like the "We're going to hire THE BEST STAFF IN AMERICA" BS line he gave us. Which implied that he was going to search for the best candidates possible to fill out his staff. Then he turns around and hires mostly his old staff from Cincinnati.
I liked Butch far more than I ever did Kiffin or Dooley, but I'm starting to have my doubts about him all of a sudden. He fibbed to us from the very outset, when he was first hired, then he resorts to cronyism for this hire, and decides to mislead the entire fanbase in the process.
The 350 Chevy was a very nice motor as well . My family owned a parts store or 2 and well forget the 302
The 305 was underrated also. Not so much for speed but the abuse I have seen them take.
Often Worked like a HD but kept going.
My favorite thing about Chevy is How interchangeable they are.
I have a respect for each company for their best feature, and hooking up any GM is a huge plus.
Jones spent quite a bit of time under debord, I think he is pretty familiar with him. Butch's offense has certain parts that were influenced by debord. I'm fine with either honestly. I like Sanford because he would bring some fresh perspective in with him. Debord would obviously have the experience in his corner. The spread option is completely different that the I Formation pro-style offense that DeBord has coached for his entire career. I just want to be sure that I understand - you believe that DeBord "can follow instruction" and run the offense.......
So Jones would have to take his time to instruct DeBord on the principles and concepts of his offense and then DeBord is supposed to then instruct the players on the offensive side of the ball???? Hmmm... The most effective coaching comes from coaches that 1) know their offensive philosophy, scheme, and play book intimately and 2) are effective communicators-teachers of the game.
DeBord may be and effective communicator however the fact that it has been almost a decade since he has served as an OC makes many question whether he would be an effective coordinator. Moreover, the fact that he has not coached nor recruited in college for 7 years begs the question of whether he can still recruit in the young man's game of recruiting. NFL personnel decisions are completely different than the college method of player acquisition.
