Official Nashville Predators Thread

The unsuccesful deserve to get money from the teams that sell all tjeir tickets at fair market value. Sounds good. I don't feel bad for any team in a salary cap sport that can't keep their stars. Nashville could have got Dubinsky, Del Zotto, Hagelin, Erixon and 2 #1s for Weber's rights. Blame Poile, not the system

Yeah, I'm sure you were in the meetings when the two sides met, huh?

I'm also sure the NHL thought that the big market teams should raid the small market teams when they decided to introduce the salary cap and revenue sharing. I'm also sure they wish there were only a handful of teams like the good ol' days when nobody gave a sh*t about hockey but a handful of Canucks and yankees.

Some of the smartest hockey fans I know live in metro Nashville, and support the Preds. But the damn Prednecks make it hard for me to feel any sympathy for them.

And you sound and act like most yankmees. Insufferable pricks who think they know-it-all and invented the game.

These massive contracts are getting out of hand. Bettman sucks.

Anyway, Preds really have to match unless they're down with battling Columbus for 4th place in the Central for the near future.

Its crazy that in order to match this offer from the Flyers, Nashville would have to pay $30M more than what was paid in 1997 to start the franchise

Does Webber really want to be a Predator?

The fans will rebel and turn their noses on the Preds if Poile does not match the Flyers offer sheet.

Him signing the offer from Philly says no, but I haven't heard him say it. Nashville has to either match the offer or take the trade..... If he let's Weber go for nothing, I just don't know of he would make it through the revolt he would have on his hands.

I'm wondering if they actually have any money. Their rhetoric says yes, but their actions don't seem to say so.

I also read that the franchise would have to pay Weber 2 million more in the first year of his contract than they bring in on ticket sales in one year. That's insane. Weber will also get paid whether there is a lockout or not too. That is probably making them pucker even more.
