"The problem is an 87 year old man is making the decision.".....Tony Basilio

Because forbid it that a man might have learned some stuff in his 87 years on the earth, after building a fortune and giving away more than most of us will earn in 10 lifetimes...

For a lot of women those things are a form of stress release to get out of the I want to kill something frame of mind. Tried it, didn’t work for me so I just go to the range. Ammo may cost a bit more than Häagen-Dazs but it’s so worth it.

💕 the range is my get away as well. Even got my missus into shooting. My current baby is my M70AB2 Yugo underfolder. I’m am AK guy. 16 years of firing an M16/M4 has made it unenjoyable for me.

Imagine the whining on here if that 87 year old man and his family cut UT off? Who would pay the buyouts?

you think college football coaches and coach searches are like they used to be?

Anyone see where Currie was quoted saying Butch could keep his job if we finish 7-5? It's in the Chattanooga paper. Very disheartening to hear

Edit: never mind, don't think it was Currie. Just someone in the AD

Butch is dunzo. He routinely loses to USCjr and Vandy and lost to Kentucky this year. We always want to beat Florida, Georgia and Bama but you don't lose to three I mentioned if you want to coach at tennessee

Not going to argue your thoughts. I would say that just keep it in context of everything going on today and the proliferation of social media. The powers that be know exactly how we all feel. I have not been shy about my opinion with those I talk with. The tickets that are sold are sold at this point and the AD has those dollars in pocket.

Do they really? I've tried looking at it from their perspective, and they realize they've got their residual source of income no matter how marginal the product. They may not like it, and say they feel our pain, but as long as they have their power and control, they sleep well at night.

From the standpoint of the everyday fan out here, we hear the near incessant ridicule and even pity caused by the perceived circus level cluster #$%! that is surrounding UT football right now. Especially those of us that live behind enemy lines.

At this point if all this seemingly confusing idiocy is being done to trot out Dan Mullen or Scott Frost, then we will all know exactly what the expectations of the people pulling the strings for this football program is. If it's a "splash" hire, all will be forgiven pretty quickly and a starved fan base will create excitement never seen around this program before.

This whole #EmptyNeyland thing is a crap sandwich created not by the fans, but many fans feel like the only method they have for voicing themselves and being heard is taking a bite even though they and the players that give their all suffer. The point is, they shouldn't have to even contemplate it...

LWS apparently posted this morning (from what I read from someone her) that Gruden deal is dead and he is at 2%. The thought being Gruden said NO again.... could this have been the reason we buy time? Don't know just seems to me if true, we would want to get out in front of the curve on this?

I have contended since the beginning it is very unlikely but do not want to be "mean" about it like some posters. I enjoy this thread regardless. I do not know what happened Sunday night but I doubt that was what caused it. More likely they expected to let Butch go and Fulmer reasoned Currie into letting him finish the season which in retrospect may not be a terrible thing.

I am stoked however to have just been promised a seat at the Meet and Greet and press conference regardless of who they hire so BOOM on that!

It is dead!
Just waiting on someone with 1-5 post to say.
I am a long time lurker of this Gruden thread ever since it started ect. I am fill in the blank friends or my family. And heard ect. that Gruden is done deal.
I find it amusing but mostly skimm through quickly and look at most likes and see if OV, Boro, Beaver, Bubba , VFL92 Docvol or DTO has said something and read most of Behr, coastypop, 5fingervolpunch, knucklehead, utvolinexile, VFLnSFD, and last but not least Grand Vol with daily reports. At 1st I was very skeptical of VFL92 but seems legitimate.

Wut?

if that's true (and i'm not saying it isn't) then looks like currie would come out and say something about supporting the vols at homecoming ... he don't have to say why, or who, just something to stress we need support.

course, that's probably inflame the idiots who want to wear paper bags to the game in protest, or not go at all.

whatdoiknow?

He did exactly that last night, preacher. Currie gave an interview where he said “I know there will be great fans that will come out and support our players at the Homecoming game this weekend.”

This idiot and her husband decided to not wear bags this weekend at the game. ( speaking in the 3rd person, like Butch). 😊

I don't know him, he may be a complete tool, but this whole "Haslam is the boogie man" thing is so incredibly overplayed by guys that still live in their mom's basement, and won't accomplish what he has in 100 lifetimes.

I've built a business from nothing. It isn't large, but I employ 25 people and well over 100 depend on me and my judgment. I assure you that my understanding of the world has changed dramatically over the 25 years I've been doing this, and I can only imaging it will change over the next 25...at which point I'll still be about 10 years younger than him. I'm not nearly as quick to judge other people's motives now, especially those with established track records of great success.
