if butch gets another year, it'll be without me.

I agree, UT will lose alot of the fanbase if they bring Butch back next year. Since the early 70s of walking around the yard for a good signal on my am radio to being a alum and to today if he is back next year I will not attend another game until he is gone.

Butch is not getting one more year or any more years. Period. Even if they do make a bowl (which they won't), he wants out and everybody wants him out. He will be looking for a job elsewhere

Just FYI, but LWS and JAV's information contradicts the OG's. While Beaver and bubba's coincides with the OG's. Can't believe them all.

Because their info contradicts doesn't mean throw it out. All of those posters have a good track record. Last time the OG's info contradicted LWS...and LWS was right. The thing is, no one knows till someone steps to the podium.

Can't see the relevance right now, but there may be more to this than an old country boy as myself understands (not fully knowing the workings of the inner circle)

If Hubbs retweeted it, then there must be some significance.... maybe someone in the know can enlighten me

Yeah I got that email. My understanding is that they decided not to contract out facilities management (maintenance, etc). Had they done this, some University employees would have lost their jobs I guess. Not sure what it has to do with football though.

Thank you.

Pardon if this has been discussed, but hasn’t UT made athletes meet same academic standards as general students? Hasn’t this been a sticking point since most of our athletic competitors make concessions in that area? Again, just seeking clarification....

Agree 100%. This is a JG thread though. LOL

You are agreeing with b.s. The country has been laughing at our program for 10 years. Not showing up for a game after the collapse of a dim witted coach in his 5th year, doesn't make people think that our fanbase is fair weather. We are a dumpster fire. Realize that. We will be a dumpster fire on Saturday night regardless of attendance. I promise you that.

I agree with this. Something happened after 6pm Sunday that changed the timing.

LWS apparently posted this morning (from what I read from someone her) that Gruden deal is dead and he is at 2%. The thought being Gruden said NO again.... could this have been the reason we buy time? Don't know just seems to me if true, we would want to get out in front of the curve on this?

Thats how I felt Saturday while watch the Ut game

The only school I am aware of that has done this is Vandy and they are a private institution.

I believe so. Higher average act scores for enrollees is pretty important in perception of academic rigor.

I respectfully disagree! You are insulting the kids and the University and may do more harm than you think.

I'm not sure I'm on board with it or not, but, if someone decides this is best and other's follow I don't fault them.

First, they are probably not in this thread, so their despair is more than most in here. We believe there is a plan, and thus, we are waiting. Those outside of this thread, well, manic, impatient, confused, and not happy.

But, I don't care if the players, or kids as you say, are insulted. They play a major part in this year's madness. They signed up for big boy SEC division 1 football, this is one part of being here. Don't like it, do better, or go somewhere else. These young men know how bad it is, but, it's their collective group of players that need to seek solace and comfort in one another, none of our voices should detract from that.

Further, the thought is so nauseating that if we did hire an interim that these kids would go crazy and stop going to class and chaos would ensue is just pathetic.

Welcome to life, welcome to the real world. If "you" meaning the players haven't learned one of life's lessons then here it is, real world your boss is replaced what are you going to do? You sure as S*** aren't slacking off unless you are looking to get fired, because you just won't quit and pursue other options.

So, make your choices and sleep in the bed that you make, and take ownership as an individual to do what you are supposed to, or the scholarship can be null and void and not renewed if you can't conduct yourself as you should.

Once again, I'm impartial to the notion of not attending. But, the fan's and supporters have that right for all we have been through over the last 14 years or so.

regardless of when it occurs, if he has indeed been told he is gone etc, the people who want the job have been notified the agents are working etc, we all know he is going to be let go, or feel strongly he will be let go, so i personally dont think he being here hurts us in a coaching search stand point, i can see how it has negative implications on recruiting, but once a coach is named even at end of season he will have time to attempt and save the class.......its all just a sad waiting game a this point

i understand the early signing period which is a big deal....but i have faith they can salvage a decent class still regardless

I'm wondering if the meeting is between Haslam and Gruden. Or Haslam and whoever it is that is tasked with making him a grudenite.

i'm wondering too, but i don't know what i'm wondering (if that makes any sense).

i thought it was the scarabbeans pulling the final strings to maybe make this happen.

clarification anyone. help us out.

Let's not forget though that the chairman of the board is our governor and haslam's son.

And? If our board is like any other board across the country then a majority vote will pass anything.

So one man alone against what 11 others? Has no power, no matter who his son is or how much money he has.

All it takes is one voting session from the BoT to hire JG then no one, not even Haslam would be dumb enough to try and do anything after the fact.

But others have claimed that Currie doesn't even need the board's approval to hire a new coach, so which is it? Either he needs their approval or he doesn't, and if he does then that majority would rule in favor of JG which has been the narrative from MIT and others, then Haslam can't do anything about it.

And after catching up for a second time my Gruden meter is broken.

I’m seeing this as 2012 all over again. The AD is going to fudge this up and end up bargain hunting. It was fun while it lasted but I think this one is over.
