Clay Travis talked about it on his show this morning (yes I know he has before...and he is a goof). However, it gets it out in the national media. The point of the post was the link to the out take from Clay's show this morning.

His saying get used to seeing Gruden on the UT sideline in 18 is painting a picture of expectations for fans.

And you have proof that I know this? Thats sounds more like your opinion. Its people like you that question every bit of information that is brought here by anyone else. Be it Boro, MIT, DTO,etc.... you hang on every word, take it apart, look for anything you can find to discredit it in any way shape form or fashion.

Therefore I question you and the others that come here only to tear apart statements to look for fault. The people commenting here only want the best for Tennessee. Yes there are a lot of people bringing information here that DO have contacts with the BOT, AD and other sources. There is more going on behind the scenes that you or I even know.

You are a fine example of Burger King people, You want it fast and you want it your way.

And have a nice day! I am.

YOU ARE RIGHT ON OLDVOL.......... don't let him/her get to you ... there are many (like myself) that trust you and know who you are what you bring to the table

yeah but that was what his second year?

People said the same thing then that they're saying now about Jones in year 5

Two years is not enough time to see if he can get the job done. That's literally what everyone said.

Year three it was after the Vandy loss, which oddly was before we played KY. So really no coach survives losing to Vandy

Butch has so far.

Did you miss your blue font? You do understand that it is a university don't you?

Of course and I absolutely agree with what you said why can't we have both? I am all for that- but those on the academic side don't want both and haven't for years- hence why we are in this mess now.

Morning all! I see that some have implemented my snowflake rating system. It partners well with Knuck’s Invitation to leave.

Looking forward to seeing what 10/31 holds for us today! Also, the best Halloween candy are Reese’s min cups followed by kit kats and crunch bars. Frozen Reese’s cups all day.

I couldn't agree more.😝

Eric Ainge just used the phrase "State-run media." Confirmed Ainge hangs out with us in Gruden thread.

Also, I'm going to stay in this thread for a while. I ventured out into the FF and immediately became hostile and negative.

Soon.

People need to lay off OV quick fast and in a hurry.
So what if his posts mislead your hopeful and fragile little heart?
The man has bled for the Big Orange and most likely to this day still feels the pain from doing so.
Show him respect or in the words of the great knucklehead, GTFO!

It isn't the academic side. The path has been cleared there. I'm starting to believe that Haslam may be balking.

Sunday afternoon/night i finally got it ... that this situation is fluid, ever changing.

what's true right now, at this exact moment, may not be true 5 minutes from now.

that makes it hard to go all in and believe what "insiders" tell us, and it makes it hard when what they told us doesn't pan out. it doesn't mean they were trolling.

this situation has more moving parts than a car.
i believe that, as long as all parts hold together, we'll arrive at the destination we're all hoping for.... Grudenville, TN.

if at any point, something flies apart, then the whole deal does.

the sooner people learn and understand the fluidity of this situation, the better they will cope with the "insiders."

Counterpoint from a friend not someone here to instigate.

People should bring info in a clear and concise manner if they choose to share. Not cryptic midnight posts vaguely reassuring people who blindly hang on your every word. There is a fair amount of reactive trolling in the thread but there is in almost every coaching thread. You can go to any bar or barbershop in town and hear the same things you read here.

Any reader should also be aware that 99% of the time posts that are wrapped in certainty should be taken with a grain of salt. I would say 100% (how I read them) but leaving a 1% chance that someone on here really knows what is going to happen.

I learned a lot in 2012. I learned no matter how close to the center of the program anyone is anything can change at any given time. This year I believe the only certainty is Butch is gone at or before the end of the season most likely after Vandy with or without a Bowl game barring a truly groundbreaking development. I cannot see what else can happen that already has not.

If you want Gruden then say so. If not I get it. If you want him but do not think there is a snowballs chance in hell (my stance) then that's ok too.

But for the love of sweet 6lb 4oz baby Jesus please stop reading message board posts as credible news stories and just go with the flow. Butch is out. We are going to get a major upgrade. Butch will probably finish the season barring a ridiculous (I know it is already to many of us) blowup or a show of cause presents itself which I doubt.

I was as upset as anyone, as a fan, that he wasn't let go yesterday but as a businessman I thought about things. I had a management employee that was not getting it done but rode with him for two years until I found the right fit. Not exactly the same thing but from that perspective I understand waiting. Every person on that team, every prospect, every football employee knows what is coming. Anyone with eyes and ears should. I still believe the players like Butch and that is part of his problem (to much counseling not much coaching) and maybe they will try to send him out on a positive note and we can somehow make this at least not a record bad season and lose 8 for the first time. Sometimes its better to love the one you are with if you cannot have or haven't found and-or solidified the one you love or really want lol.

Better things are to come but lets talk and have civil discourse without the hostility because its silly, immature and unwarranted.

Athletics committee on 11/02 & several discussions on Neyland renovations and capital outlay on 11/03.

I think that I understand the "chess pieces" comments now. I understand that "we" the fans can play a pivotal role. This is really bigger than any one group of individuals can accomplish(?). So a group of boosters have had enough and take over power from "the booster". They all agree to get a coach(saban type). The AD is good with all of this. They pitch the idea to the University and they agree because of booster threats. So, this leaves us with the secret society of the academia to say yes or no(?). And all the lawer talk, last night, says that deals have been offered to compensate.
With all that said. Does attendance of this weeks game have an impact on the outcome of this coaching hire?

Quote from JG Monday night.

“I draw plays every day. Who knows what life will bring? I haven’t lost a game in a few years, though, so I’ve got that going for me. You never know. We’ll see what happens.”

Jon Gruden doesn’t rule out return to coaching in latest interview | Fanbuzz

It certainly seems like that is "his line" he uses all the time when asked about this topic. After he said "Who knows what life will bring?" he threw in the statement about not losing games for years in real quick, to cover his tracks. It certainly seems like he is getting back into coaching!

Doyle's Grudometer is at 20%.

I'm still holding onto a little hope simply because I cannot believe that our AD is as stupid and inept as he appears to be right now. There has to be some sort of method to his apparent madness.
Right?
Please tell me I'm right.

I’m watching but am at less than 1% now. I need a media source that is widely respected and not just an entertainer or fan to say this thing is possible. So far we haven’t had one. We need one!

I thought Haslam was on board with Gruden? This goes back and forth,is he or is he not on board with this plan? I have said many times he and his son (BOT) would be critical supporters. Does anyone know the answer???

No. No one knows. ALL we know is MIT and Bubba appear to be doing their best to apply pressure to whoever has the potential to hold things up.

And he said Pro Team as well. Not UT. He has already turned us down. He is smart enough and rich enough not to step into this hornets nest.

I heard all that, but I never heard “pro team”. Of course, I’m bed-ridden with the flu and that could have passed right by me, but I noticed also how he talked a lot about younger players, and also about a specific play, where he said “here is a play that every college tram runs at least once a game”. I found that interesting that he comments on how he is studying the college game and their play patterns.
