Just out of curiosity, how much money do you think our Administration would have to pony up to bring Gruden to Knoxville as our HC?

I’m guessing around 7-8 Million? Maybe even more than that.
What ever it takes! And yes we can afford. Administration please give Gruden full control if he wants it.

I just really want to know why anyone thinks Gruden would want to leave a cushy job paying upwards of $7 mil per year, one from which he could easily retire, to take a pay cut and jump into the meat grinder that is college football coaching? Does he just miss coaching? Then why wait 8 years? Does he want a challenge? Again, why wait 8 years? He basically has nothing to gain and everything to lose by jumping back into coaching. If he does well, he's taken a pay cut to work harder and given up a gig he may never get back. If he fails, he loses credibility and has given up a gig he may never get back. There's literally zero upside for such a move. It would be the dumbest career move in history. Now, if he were to lose the commentator gig, then I could see it, but there's no indication his job is on the line. I'm sorry. I simply see no way such a thing would ever happen.

He’ll never have a problem going back to broadcasting.

Yes this story line seems all very familiar. A news story from CTF reported Gruden offered job and accepted and it was a "done Deal' I think these are all trolls trying to get peoples hopes up and/or messing with people. They may think they have an inside source, but all it means is NOTHING.....

Just like the policeman say" there is nothing to see here, please move along. There is nothing to see"

I have it on the highest authority that the CTFP article was exceptionally accurate. My source is no longer in the position to get the same level of info, sadly.

I did think the Cherokee country club tidbit was a bit odd. If you want to accidentally bump into interested parties, without a lot of prying eyes around, that would be one place for it I suppose.

I still don’t know what is being talked about here. Someone explain please

This is dumb.

From the Twenty-Fourth Book of Orange:

I have traveled through fire and water, a Lone Rider upon a white steed. Dark were the days before me, when He that shall not be named covered the world in a third darkness, corrupting all that is true and good to his ill will. The peoples of the land cowered in fear of the Vile Beast, perched within his fortress in the wastelands of the southern world. But I said unto thee that gathered in the mountains, when the beacons were lit and the white smoke rose above the last, great city of the world, "Lo, I have come in time of great peril, in time of dire need. Fear not, my brothers and sisters, the end of all that is loathsome will soon come to pass."
"I have wandered the earth for many an age, seeking the wisdom of those that have passed before me. And though this world has fallen into shadow, soon, a great light will shine from the Hill, for all the darkness to witness. It will spread like water crashing on a beach, swift and brutal it shall be. For I am the One, the Light, the wandering Orange Pilgrim that comes from the East. Through me, all will be undone. The dawn of the Orange Tribe is upon us. Arise, brothers and sisters of the prophet Peyton! For I am with thee, at the new beginning of the world.
For soon, the One True Gruden shall be among thee. The veil shall be lifted from this world. In place of a Dark Lord, a light shall erupt from the East. I will purge the Earth of this petulance. So sayeth the One True Gruden."

He could possibly restore the program to an elite level. When you're that rich, it becomes about power and being the hero...I would imagine.

Hate to break it to you, but $7 mil per year actually isn't that rich. And being a hero isn't the aim, when you accumulate wealth. You raise your standard of living, then come to rely on it and want to accumulate more wealth. As for power, wealth itself is power. It's the American way. Look at our president for a perfect example. If you want folks to look up to you, you simply donate a bit to a worthy cause and take a tax deduction. The idea that the wealthy are altruistic philanthropes is really naive.

It’s clear that Gruden is in Knoxville, but do we have confirmation that he will be at the game Saturday?

Probably a private box, or something similar. Allow him to take in the game, and if lucky discussions on running the team while not being pestered by us. lol Lets be honest, we all would badger him asking him to come coach.
