I supported Butch until the SC game last year. TN had so much on the line and didn't even show up. Then the vandy game happened and it felt like that would have been a good time to fire him. They didn't and I was really hopeful that Butch would get it right this season, but the man can't get out of his own way. I would love to win out but with everything that's​ went on, I just don't think they will or even care if they do or not. It's really a sad situation. Coaches, players, ADs come and go but the Big Orange is forever.

But what I'm asking is if the wheels are set in motion that Butch is gone regardless of how the SC game works out (assuming we don't beat Bama, which would be great, I just don't see it happening).

I took it on the chin over Gruden last time. Still haven't recovered. That is why I've not predicted anything. And won't no matter what I hear.

Gruden is who I want, and the type of perception changing hire this program needs. He's my 1a, and 1b...don't much care after that. There are a couple of names that would satisfy me...outside of those we're just settling.

That being said, I'm happy with everything I am hearing.

Yes. This goes far beyond W's & L's at this point. It's a clown show over there right now, and the media has latched on. The SEC record, the media missteps, the locker room issues, and then getting shut out at home by an SEC East rival with every big hitter in the stadium....you don't come back from that.

Winning out and beating Bama is the only thing that will change my mind at this point.

I don't think any game left on our schedule should be considered a job saver, except Alabama. In years gone by maybe LSU, but not this year.

If you beat MZ, SC, UK, or Vandy, so what ... this is Tennessee, you're supposed to do that.

Edited to add: If he beat Alabama by some miracle, then lost to MZ, SC, UK, or Vandy, it eliminates any good will and equity he may have garnered by beating Alabama (see UF/UGA and SC/Vandy last year).

Wheels were put in motion after GA...Saturday night actually. People were heated after the game. This isn't make or break...not even Bama is. There is no set timeline....relax.
