He's won more than butch in a tougher division and with less talent. If it's either him or butch I'd want Mullen but yeah not exactly my top guy either

If we don't get Gruden I want Frost and it isn't even a question- he is going to be a winner! No Mullen maybe a few years ago but he has done nothing lately and doesn't he have some NCAA questions also? Just a boring hire in my opinion- we need a dynamic energetic coach!

Here's the thing about Mullen I mentioned before in another thread...

He's perfectly content to make a seven figure salary doing little more than posting a winning record and getting the Egg Bowl trophy from time to time. Their fans don't expect much, hence he's not going to get on the hot seat over the lack of contending for the SEC West berth in Atlanta.

To which he does. However, if he was a great coach, he'd be beating the crap out of LSU, Ole Miss, Arky, Auburn on a regular basis and would have gotten at least Sumlin, Gus and the Bertapatomus fired along the way.

A good coach, one that recruits at a high level that is, can get players excited about going to school in Death Valley. Let's face it, is Tuscaloosa really the Culture Mecca of the south? Yeah, didn't think so.

But in turn, a winning program can get recruits to go to school there. Something he has not done or is incapable of doing. Or flat out just doesn't care. He. Does. Not. Recruit. Well.

Every coach gets a generational talent every so often. Prescott happened to be Moo State's version of Peyton. Sure, Mullen coached him up, but has he parlayed that success into a recruiting tool?

That he might this year and next. But when recruiting takes a dip because he can't (or won't) recruit at a high level, what then?

We're back to 7-5, 8-4 as the status quo.

And his record this year is? 2-3. Losses were to ranked teams and he beat an over ranked LSU, but he still has Bama and ATM coming up. As well as a pretty decent UK squad. Probably looking at an 8-4 or 7-5 record...again.

So, do tell me how great Mullen is and why we should really want him here? Other than the facts I laid out already.

Yes, it is. Only reason I responded.

Obviously, I don't post much, especially what is shared with me. It was just too coincidental, especially given what you, Boro, Slice, et. al., had reported.

I feel much better with the professionalism being shown. It was also mentioned that they think Currie learned from his mistakes in how they handled the CPF.

Thought this was really funny from Lane Kiffin's official twitter account. He tweeted something making fun of Saban's "rat poison" rant and Fake Phil Fulmer account responded if he wanted his old job back? This was his response.

Let me preface this post by saying up front that I know I can gtfo, no one cares, I'm not a real fan, etc. etc. etc.

That being said, I'm not necessarily saying it's Gruden or bust but if they screw this up and either don't fire Butch or fire him and attempt to shove another bargain bin hire down our throats, I believe I am done.

Seriously, as much as I hate to say it, I think I will walk away and find something less futile to invest my time in.
