I only trust information from important men who sit behind the finest Cherrywood desks.

There's you an obscure reference to the old days.

Doyle, it's a day late, and SIAP, but it was a "cherry oak desk" he referred to. I enjoyed his posts, but mostly the replies. Lots of fun. Maybe he'll show up again.

Yep...appearing to get spurned by Gruden a second time would likely be something they want to avoid.

It doesn't matter what actually happened last time...only what it looks like.

That's the way I see it.
I'm sure Currie would like to make the greatest hire in the history of Tennessee sports.
I think I would give it a whirl!

Goooooood Mooooorrrrnnnniiiiiiinnnnnggggg Grudenites and good morning to you Sir Gruden (i know he lurks on here to see what is going on)

I was reading this thread before falling asleep last night. I had a dream that I was in Neyland and Gruden was the coach. The stadium was as loud as the 2015 Oklahoma game for every down on defense, the players played and executed like they were in the NFL, and we were scoring at will. Then later I had a dream I was watching a practice and Butch walked in wearing street clothes asking if he could give the team advice. He was told to leave.

Make this a reality, soon.

Can the dude even coach anymore? He has no coached since 2008 and never been a college head coach and had to deal with college kids that seem to be falling on helmets alot.

A lot of people in here posting ridiculous stuff .... taken from what they were told and what they think the last time was about....

We came close last time... and it was real ( believe it or not) and I have high hopes it will happen this time...

If it doesn't it will never change my life one bit.........

But if it does.... it will change Tennessee football for a very long time .... and possibly put Bama back where they belong

Relevance is a hire away. All I ask is that we try, as hard as possible, to be relevant again.

I don't care about National Championships...I really don't. I want a team like our early 90's team. I want to be dominant at home, and to be a team that is feared on the road. I want to ruin other teams seasons. I want to compete for the East, and the conference regularly. Anything after that is gravy.

I want the mentality that Gruden would bring...that's all.
