Their problem is the recruiting side. You can get away with 3 stars and a few 4's and be competitive in the B10, thats average in the SEC.

I think he is a good coach but will never be an elite recruiter. You need all of it to be competing in the SEC for championships.

And I'd love Gruden to come here but lets use a little common sense here.

Like The Sports Source said today, Butch and Gruden are good friends. You think Gruden doesn't know about the fake DUI and other stories being made up about Butch? One of the many reasons he will never coach here.

The DUI story may not be fake, its just being denied. Like a lot of things that go on behind the scenes at UT we will never know the truth about.

And rumors and fake news are everywhere nowadays, it's just part of the culture. It is what it is.

I think Grudens affection for UT is greater than any friendship they may have developed. Plus a few million bucks a year tends to ease the pain of someone getting butthurt over you accepting the job their friend lost. It's not Grudens fault the UT job was too big for Jones. It's business, not personal and the 2 can be separated.

In the NFL you don't get to schedule your own opposition and pay them to take a beat down. Butch is .500 against freakin Vandy. Never beaten Bama and 1-4 against bad Florida teams.

During church this morning i heard the preacher say Saban would be defeated. Most thought he said satan but i know he said Saban. If that isn't a sign Gruden is coming i don't know what is.

Please, spare me. Are we talking about grown men or children? You step up on a big stage, you better be ready for all that goes with it. Pretty sure Gruden has proved he has what it takes to survive that.. Butch? Not so much...

"It has always been a dream to coach at the University of Tennessee. I am beyond grateful for my good friend Butch, who poured his heart and soul into this program for the past 5 years. He did an excellent job of rebuilding a program that had hit rock bottom and I look forward to finishing the job he started......by bringing numerous SEC and national championships back to this storied university"
