This is the truth, you are not going to get sport reporters to go there. But the truth is getting out there, but I have no doubt the coaching world knows the basic truth. Jason Whitlock and others have put it out there, it's not hid anymore. And the rock said it all, even ESPN acknowledged in a round about way that there may be truth to the message.
Paul Newberry hates UT.
Access Denied
He should be torched for many things in his "OP" but this takes the cake:
Already trailing badly to the likes of Georgia, Auburn and Alabama, the Volunteers have plummeted even further in the past week with their ludicrous attempts to get someone, anyone Bueller? Bueller? to take over a team that won a national title less than two decades ago (it seems a lot longer) and boasts a stadium with more than 100,000 seats (many of them no longer occupied by people wearing that hideous orange attire).
"hideous orange attire" how's that VolNation?
That's some objective journalism.
I believe that as well, no doubt. And this is what the media should be reporting. And this is what coaches in the real world probably full well know including Gruden. The tables have turned, the fan base is primed and our athletic department and University is going to soar! And the media will be left holding their mouths open and looking as stupid as they did on election night!SOON! Gruden to the HILL!
The key factor here is his complete lack of ability to control Fulmer.
I doubt very seriously the Phil exchanges Christmas cards with the man who helped see him out.
Alternate explanation:
The Gruden negotiations were real for all concerned with the exception of John Currie. John Currie ran a con at the direction of Haslam, to make everyone else think Gruden was happening, while Currie negotiated in secrecy with Schiano. In fact, he did his job so well that his con was not discovered until early last Sunday morning. If not for that early morning leak, we would have Haslam, Currie, and Greg Schiano today.
My daughter just texted me and said Coach Fulmer (he will always be coach to me) has emailed student athletes more in 12 hours than Currie did his whole time there.
TIFWIW. I just think it goes to show he cares about the athletic department and university.
