Someone on Twitter please start a no Doerne campaign. Sounds like he is the next one they are trying to cram down or throats in the middle of the night.

If that happens Neyland burns!

It can't end with Haslam winning.

Well, I think I have had enough reality today. This is the first time the betrayal has hit home with me.

One of my twin daughters asked a simple question this evening. Do we have our new coach yet? I just smiled and said not yet.

I am raising three children in Birmingham, AL. All three are full orange blooded UT fans. They pull for them even above Clemson which is their mother's school. Let that sink in... They wear their UT clothes to school knowing they will get ribbed for it pretty good. But they want to wear it anyway. And each year I traditionally buy them new UT clothes and gear at Christmas. Not this year.

I can no longer support the university and lead my children down that path unless something drastically changes.

Tonight I feel betrayed. Maybe tomorrow will be better...

Good night y'all.

Feel for you there. Was tough just my wife and I. Can't imagine kids in school.

They turned down kiffin Tee & Kevin Steele according to Dontae wtf is really going on the whole dayum hill done turned into a bunch of idiots

I’ve said it before, Peyton wants nothing to do with Tee coming back to UT in anyway but a guest. Peyton, even with all he accomplished in the nfl, is bitter that Tee came in year one and accomplished what he couldn’t in 4. He is also aware that major accomplishments are in the NFL while Tees are his time playing here.

Now if Tee were to come back, even as a coordinator, and brought us back to playing for championships Peyton would be considered a step below the legendary Tee and Peyton, las taught by his buddy haslam, will do anything to not play second fiddle no matter how much it damages the school.

My theory on Haslam is he loves him some Peyton and Peyton has money just like he does. Haslam being a good god fearing southern boy just can’t fathom one of those “negroes” running his football team, and sure won’t have one of them over take a god fearing white man for greatest Tennessee legacy, even if it just as a coordinator. That’s also why he had Peyton call and kill the Charlie Strong deal last go round. He will not have a black man run his team and won’t let a black man become his team greatest legend.

If they hire Doeren, Neyland will have about 70k or less in attendance.

Screw this sh$$.

I am disgusted by HoH and John Currie!

Currie does not care. Stadium will continue to sell out because other teams fans will travel and fill the seats

If I were the nc state coach I'd feel insulted that they'd offer only 4.5m after they had jus offered gundy 7m+, granted he might know he's not worth that much but in this situation he's got all the leverage so why not go for more, what's the worst that happens? They pull the offer?

Right now at the drivers lounge in the Raliegh Pilot Truck Stop :

Doorknob thinking:
" These guys are idiots...bahahaha...they are gonna pay me 4.5 million per year and a buyout? Are these guys for real or am I getting punkd? Where's that rascal Jon Gruden he is such a trickster...that guy!"

Currie: "Dahmer..Dahmer..Dahmer!!! "
Doorknob: "it's Doeren....Dave Doeren."
Currie: "Ok, that's awesome. Are you gonna sign this contract or not? I got 10 minutes to get this done."
Doorknob: "You said the Hostesses were fat....with low self esteem right?"
Currie: "Yes Danny....all the the fat girls with low self esteem you want......just sign."
Doorknob: "Right here? Below the date?"
Currie: " No....on the line above your printed name...Damn it ! Just sign by this damned X here!"

And that my friends is how the hire of the century will go down!

This.

Remember that Book of Manning 30 for 30 where they showed all the Manning little boys playing football and Peyton cried like a little b*tch the whole time? He’s always thought he was the best.

well seems as if this thread hit a wall for the evening.. guess we need the regular night owls to burn that midnight oil and keep Doeren in Raleigh

I don't get it...if the ship has sailed why not put it to rest!!! He's had literally every opportunity in the world to smash the rumors but hasn't even whispered anything...I just don't buy it...it just smells of crap plain and simple.

They've lost. Nuclear option has been implemented by other boosters. Unfortunately, they took their toll on the fan base and the University. Donations are going to be withheld. Season ticket sales will decline. And, in all likelihood, baring a miracle, it will take years for the football program to recover. We are at the low point right now. Barring a miracle hire, I'll no longer be a UT football fan. I just can't take another 5 years of an underperforming dismal football program, hoping we might beat Vandy and UK. Just not gonna do it. I'm sick about it.

If that happens things will change. Haslam is in trouble, no way UT stays with him over losing millions and angering Tennessee fans. It would set the University back light years in ways not even the ones protecting Haslam want. Their problem is they think in a bubble, until it dawns on them what is happening they think folks won't follow through. If folks hold firm with following though it will change. And it will fast!

Kirby Smart is sitting in Athens having a beer and laughing his ass off at how much easier his path to the East Championship will be for the next 4-5 years.
