Well, I think I have had enough reality today. This is the first time the betrayal has hit home with me.
One of my twin daughters asked a simple question this evening. Do we have our new coach yet? I just smiled and said not yet.
I am raising three children in Birmingham, AL. All three are full orange blooded UT fans. They pull for them even above Clemson which is their mother's school. Let that sink in... They wear their UT clothes to school knowing they will get ribbed for it pretty good. But they want to wear it anyway. And each year I traditionally buy them new UT clothes and gear at Christmas. Not this year.
I can no longer support the university and lead my children down that path unless something drastically changes.
Tonight I feel betrayed. Maybe tomorrow will be better...
Good night y'all.
They turned down kiffin Tee & Kevin Steele according to Dontae wtf is really going on the whole dayum hill done turned into a bunch of idiots
If I were the nc state coach I'd feel insulted that they'd offer only 4.5m after they had jus offered gundy 7m+, granted he might know he's not worth that much but in this situation he's got all the leverage so why not go for more, what's the worst that happens? They pull the offer?
Ive said it before, Peyton wants nothing to do with Tee coming back to UT in anyway but a guest. Peyton, even with all he accomplished in the nfl, is bitter that Tee came in year one and accomplished what he couldnt in 4. He is also aware that major accomplishments are in the NFL while Tees are his time playing here.
Now if Tee were to come back, even as a coordinator, and brought us back to playing for championships Peyton would be considered a step below the legendary Tee and Peyton, las taught by his buddy haslam, will do anything to not play second fiddle no matter how much it damages the school.
My theory on Haslam is he loves him some Peyton and Peyton has money just like he does. Haslam being a good god fearing southern boy just cant fathom one of those negroes running his football team, and sure wont have one of them over take a god fearing white man for greatest Tennessee legacy, even if it just as a coordinator. Thats also why he had Peyton call and kill the Charlie Strong deal last go round. He will not have a black man run his team and wont let a black man become his team greatest legend.
They've lost. Nuclear option has been implemented by other boosters. Unfortunately, they took their toll on the fan base and the University. Donations are going to be withheld. Season ticket sales will decline. And, in all likelihood, baring a miracle, it will take years for the football program to recover. We are at the low point right now. Barring a miracle hire, I'll no longer be a UT football fan. I just can't take another 5 years of an underperforming dismal football program, hoping we might beat Vandy and UK. Just not gonna do it. I'm sick about it.
