Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

John Feinstein just brought up TN fans reactions to Schiano based on the Penn St stuff. He ended with asking if we would have reacted the same way if Gruden had been at Penn St at the same time and we would have offered him.

Nope. We wouldn't have. We would say, "he didn't know anything." It is ok if we refuse Schiano on the basis that we don't believe he is a good coach. That is sufficient. And not to mention the lack of transparency surrounding the hire. The PSU bit only added fuel to the fire after the fact.

That is the question and I doubt there is !
Just wondering if Gruden did actually sign the contract but Currie never signed it because he and Haslam wanted someone else. Maybe that's why they were so confident and were saying he signed and was a done deal. Just like everyone else trying to figure out what went wrong.

So is this where we are, Haslam is the only booster that matters, he makes all the important hires even though he doesn't have the authority, The administration feels so comfortable with Currie they say hurry find us a coach even after his displayed terrible judgment. So tell me why anyone with information that could slow down or help stop this bull s it train they are withholding?

I wish he would! I like Clay Travis. But, sadly my Twitter feed is all Gundy and the sincere belief he is coming to UT. That means that everyone has suddenly forgotten what Currie and the HOH just did to us. :thud:

Then HOH accomplished sacrificing the battle but staying ahead in the war

Yeah. Unfortunately we don't live in a black and white world like simpletons wish we did.

Your perception is the sum of your positive and negative qualities.

Unfortunately for Schiano, the Penn St stuff was only made worse by the fact he is an ass head coach.

In other words, a negative plus a negative is sure as hell not positive.

The fact of the matter is, if you googled his name before Sunday night, what would you have seen. That’s where we are in today’s world. We couldn’t afford that hire after all the Title IX stuff

Currie WILL imho make this hire and it will set us back another 10 years but Currie will be gone within the next two..... when it is to late...

Sorry to say but that is just my opinion

Then we must continue to fight to have him removed, even if it means missing the early signing deadline. That would only set this class back a slight bit but could be made up with the right hire, imho.

Correct. His current position as Chairman of the Board is powerful enough.

Iron sharpens iron. It has been stated relentlessly but bears repeating, send your emails, twit your tweets (the more hashtags, the better), make the phone calls, etc. If you have yet to send an email or do any of the above, more than enough of us are willing to assist in providing templates.

Everyone in the Gundy thread are verbatim saying if Currie pulls this off they’d forgive him. Seriously???? This is what I was afraid of! This is a Haslam move and he is about to win again. Biker was right... sad day.
