I'm simply comparing Chip Kelly's accomplishments at Oregon to Chris Petersen at Washington. Kelly was significantly better.

I just don't see where this Petersen is elite talk is coming from. His record at Washington says he's a good coach. But it definitely doesn't support the opinion that he's elite. That's a very select group. A group I've never seen Chris Petersen mentioned in.

I've heard David Shaw get mentioned as elite coach more than I've heard Chris Petersen.

Shaw who hasn’t developed a QB?

I brought up off topic stuff and got **** down for 2 days!

Let’s hope it’s Gruden but Petersen would be a great hire if not!!

Georgia even went on record to say they wouldn’t play BS
With mountains of talent that should roll BS they openly said no


But Peterson isn’t worthy of Tennessee

Chip Kelly dominated that same conference a few years earlier and it was easy to see he was a great coach. His teams were DOMINANT. They would annihilate everyone and rarely lose.

Nothing about Chris Petersen and his teams at Washington said dominant. All I saw the last 2 years was an okay team playing a weak schedule and winning games because the schedule was soft. Sorta like Wisconsin this year.

...at WASHINGTON. Oh, and he lost a only a handful of games at Boise. 128-28 all time. Only 3 seasons with fewer than 10 wins. Never a losing record.

Roundly seen as a top 10 coach. Looked at CBS and Athlon's rankings and he was 6th in both polls. And we ain't getting Saban, Urban, Dabo.

I’ve added the UW 10 seasons prior to his arrival and his 8 seasons as Boise HC. Now maybe you can see why he’s a hot commodity. But, don’t worry...it’s Gruden anyways.

Since the Georgia game, I have been trying to think what second and third favorite teams to have in my avatar.
But, since I’m just all Vol, 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week, I had a hard time thinking of two.
But, before I totally gave up on him after 41-0, to show support for our previous Coach, I had his previous stops at Central Michigan and Cincinnati logos kind of as a joke but also to support Butch.

Now, I have changed that to two different NFL TEAMS.
Winner, winner chicken dinner to first person pointing out the significance.

So you want our coach to recruit mediocre players and not studs?

Oh that's right, Fulmer only made it because he had the Peyton Mannings, Al Wilsons and Jason Wittens as players. Otherwise he sucked as a coach.. am I right?

We should create a thread dedicated strictly to Jon Gruden becoming head coach..where we all gather and talk about Jon Gruden and any "inside" information we have on Jon Gruden...I mean look at how lucky those other guys are to be able to have their own "Patterson,Peterson,and Mullen" threads... Can we ask Freak to make a special Jon Gruden thread? Im tired of coming into this "everyone but gruden" thread..100%
