His first 4 years at Washington while playing one of the weakest schedules in the country.

Just done see anything to be that impressed with.

He made the playoffs. We can’t even make a bowl right now. Guy wins everywhere he is.

Our schedule outside of bama and Georgia is trash this year

I still think its Gruden. Too much points to him. Idk about all the MNF details but theres a team of smart people to figure that out. Where theres a will, theres a way. Where theres 10.3 million wills, theres lots of ways.

In the event im wrong; I believe no matter who becomes the next coach, the majority will be thrilled.

......and it wont be M***en!

So let me see if I get this, a failing network doesn't want more buzz around their color guy because it will be a circus. Seems like that would be exactly what they want.

If he's as good as y'all say he is, his greatness should be self evident.

Chip Kelly dominated that same conference a few years earlier and it was easy to see he was a great coach. His teams were DOMINANT. They would annihilate everyone and rarely lose.

Nothing about Chris Petersen and his teams at Washington said dominant. All I saw the last 2 years was an okay team playing a weak schedule and winning games because the schedule was soft. Sorta like Wisconsin this year.

You suck at everything. Literally, there’s nothing I can imagine you do that earns credence just based on the way you talk football.

lol

128-28 lifetime coaching record. Made a nationally relevant program out of Boise with a bunch of 2 and 3 stars and had some impressive wins.

But he sucks.

"All I saw" invalidates everything you said, but feel free to back yourself up from another one of your account names.

Maybe not exactly..in those exact words..but did he not say that there was another plan in place that some people would not like (but that he was ok with)? I know you’re a super sleuth and all but I took it to mean that the fall-back after Gruden was a solid hire that he liked but others may not...

If you didn’t interpret it like that I apologize. Doesn’t instantly make your opinion the right one

I'm absolutely not claiming I'm right, I just think it changes the narrative when words are attributed that someone didn't use. It's leading and unfair to folks that weren't here that night.

They play in a weak conference and play nobody out of conference.

There's a reason the Pac 12 is about to miss the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 years. Outside of USC, it's a weak conference.

Compare Petersen at Washington to Chip Kelly at Oregon. That's the difference between a great head coach and one that is simply okay. Chip Kelly was in the same conference and dominated it at a much higher level.

I just don't see anything special about Petersen.

You hate the guy we get it.
Your also the guy who quits on a team
Who is a self admitted bandwagon fan
Who fluffs Bama at every opportunity
Who the hell does that on a UT board?

The fact is Peterson is a hell of a coach
If it’s not Gruden I’m perfectly happy with Peterson
He’d win a lot of games at Tennessee and wouldn’t hide at the sight of Saban.

First off, I have not been told with any certainty WHEN the announcement will be. But the factor leading to this decision is, and has been:

Timing with respect to assistant coaches. The original plan was to wait until all the assistants (or at least coordinators) had finished their seasons, excluding bowl games, to create the most positive momentum and energy. The hope was for this to be after the last regular season game. But then conference championship games became an issue. The hope was to wait until after the championship game (from Gruden’s side, see “respect for coaches”). But there’s been increasing pressure from UT side of things to do it this week to get the process started due to recruiting. It SOUNDS like this side has prevailed and it will happen this week. I don’t know what that means in regards to announcing assistants who may be coaching in conference championship games. I don’t know for sure who those guys are, but Steele and Tee could both potentially be in that category.

I personally do not know how MNF factors into all this, but I’m sure it does at some level. I just don’t have those details.

Either way, don’t panic if there’s no announcement Sunday. We all hope there is, but good news is coming regardless. Patience. Our wait will be worth it!

Is Petersen related to everyone here?

I don't know why y'all are jumping on me for questioning the dogma around here that's he some elite coach. This is honestly the first time I've heard of him getting talked like this. I've never seen him listed as a top coach in the game. I've seen David Shaw get more hype.

I'm simply not getting where all this Petersen is elite talk is coming from. It's the first time I've heard it.

Chip Kelly left Oregon because he’s a cheat and a fraud
Chip had a flashy offense but got worked in the title game
Chip is a wild card just like Gruden
Chances are extremely high that Kelly wants another chance at the league. Then what? Another Lane?
