I was at Disney 2-3 weeks ago. Literally lost count how many times I saw Vols fans. It was crazy. I felt I was in Knoxville.

Serious question(this is the right place to ask because this thread is more sane than the mediocrity threads): Why does the local media go out of its way to convince us we are just mediocre now? We dream of big hires, they push a narrative of the mediocre hire being the right hire. We hope, they try their best to essentially call us stupid. What do they gain if we aren’t great?

Because the local media in Knoxville is primarily made up of arrogant jackasses that parade around on a high horse that hasn't truly existed in 30+ years.

Journalists almost ALWAYS have an undeserved high opinion of themselves; the Knoxville media just takes that to an extreme.

EDIT: I'll add that any inside 'sources' they've been used to having spoonfeeding them things have dried up in the last several years, and because these fools want to be lazy they get grouchy because they have to make an attempt to do work. And when they can't actually accomplish anything since their journalism/investigative skills are total trash, they turn to insulting the general public a la Jimmy Hyams.

I'm packing for my trip to Disney world, and most days I'll wear Tennessee clothes, as per usual. It occurs to me that while I'll be sad to miss celebrating the announcement with all of you, it will be pretty awesome hear what people from around the country say. We all know this will be such a major national story.

You need a shirt like I have. It says This Girl Loves Disney and Her Vols with a picture of an orange castle. I will send you a pic when I get home!! I get a lot of compliments when I wear it in Disney!! I was there when we played FL this year and wore it then!

I've got a better and easier solution.

Go read the Mullen thread. Invoke increased heart rate from anger, deeper breathing and furiously type out responses to mouthbreathers posts.

Burn far more calories that way.

Mullen thread makes me want to punch a baby. I haven’t listened to any sports talk here in Nashville or ready any articles because it makes me so dang mad. Only thing that keeps me grounded is knowing Peyton and Phil are a part of this.
