SI cover was beautiful..a picture of Tony and the words The Tennessee Waltz.

My favorite issue. As for the Sentinel, I remember getting up early, walking out from Hess Hall and going out to Volunteer Parkway and grabbing some papers. Pretty sure I took more than I was supposed to that day. :zeitung_lesen:

I do think we are constitutionally different from the others. I believe that we are the ones who remember that we are one of the most storied programs in college football. We remember a time when there was swagger involved with being a Tennessee fan. We remember a time when, if we were down by 4 and Peyton got the ball back on his own 20 with a minute twenty seconds left, you had full confidence he could drive it those 80 yards. We are the ones who believe that a coach of the highest caliber, the single most sought after coach of our time not only would come here, but that the University of Tennessee would be the job he'd pick and want over every other single job on the planet. We are the ones who continue to believe in the strength of our history to propel us forward.

Stupid mullenites can't dream big. They can't imagine a life better than the one they already have. I genuinely feel sorry for them.

This reminds me of the '96 TN/AL game when TN fell behind 13-0, but nobody panicked the fans didn't boo we continued to watch patiently and confidently. While it wasn't a last minute comeback our Vols won 20-13 and that's what those teams did and I look forward to that day again. SOON
Thanks for the trip down memory lane VFLnSFD.

No problem. As the roller coaster pulls into the station I'm feeling reflective and emotional about everything we've been witness to over the last couple of months. I believe our university is being cared for by people who really love it. I'm thankful for that.

Heh, I don't actually get to count myself as a Grude, because I have no history like you all do. but I do like the name "Grude" for you, because it reminds me of this little fella.

Oh, and good morning, everyone. :hi:
That's what I look like when I wake up and think about our new coach.

I am leaving for Virginia in a few hours for the holiday before coming back for Saturday's game. I won't be able to keep tabs as usual but will be checking in during bathroom and meal breaks (can't Grude and drive, right?). You'll hold it together, keep the good vibe going and I should be 97 by 1800 where I can once again put my life on hold and catch up on VN. Any other travelers keep it safe.

DUN!

Love this. I work for the movie theatre industry and I've had the Jon "I Am Grude" picture hanging on our refrigerator in marketing for several weeks now. They all think I am crazy because of 2012 and currently but that's OK come Monday they too will know. :)

Enjoy these times SFD, you will turn around and they will be grown, I have fond memories of our first trip and my 3-year-old daughter's reaching out for Minnie to hold her!

That same daughter is now a student at that Crimson school which shall not be named! But her blood still runs Orange......:cheer:

omg...how does that work?

I know. I have a brother-in-law who is a Georgia fan, but just kind of. I simply cannot imagine the feeling of betrayal I would feel if one of my kids went to Alabama. It would genuinely break my heart.

Literally every single family member of mine that has graduated from college, graduated from the university of Tennessee.

Full Scholarship with a 10k stipend for her extra-curricular is hard to turn down. Hate to admit it, but they have an excellent educational program and are exploding with new construction on campus.

Every penny they pay Nick Saban is well worth it to the University. They have money pouring in.
