Yes , and it's been my opinion the entire time. Some wanted to say he didn't need it , and he should be on the road. I always thought he would wait for his last check , and get every penny that Tampa owed him.

have we hired a coach? More than meets the eye here. 2 people have been left outside looking in (agent , hart). Money did the end around and did so with blocking set(bot, money at the ready and pm) . Hart has been straight armed with a pick not his own and is locked in peeing contest with players above his pay grade. He can't win so he plays or gets played.

I think, as far as Hart not liking being told what do, Skeeter and Deer Park and LWS would agree.

Hart has gone off the reservation as predicted. At the very least, Gruden and his people didn't want to deal with him and there's a reason for that.

If we end up with Fisher, it's a f'n cop out.

if i was donating, the money i'd give for gruden would be exponentially more than my money for strong

id much rather give some major cash for someone i honestly believed could turn around the big orange vs. someone i thought may have a chance if everything goes right

Interesting point. I am trying to make myself buy in to believing it, hypothetically, but one question jumps to the front of my cerebellum.

If hypothetically, said man is waiting until the 1st on this check, why send his agent out to crap all over a very lucrative deal that might be in the works when that check stops?

The one thing I forgot to add to this pi$$ing contest is how slighted Hart felt by being gone around. The money met with Gruden and got an agreement (according to Y4B, who I believe). Hart CAN'T have been happy to find out that people whose jobs do not depend on this hire thought that they could do his job for him.

Just a thought as to why Dave might be playing hardball. LaMonte has the prize, sure, but the AD is in full fah q mode at the moment and is willing to make the $$$ sweat for their guy. I don't know Hart from Adam, but I would be willing to bet he's willing to teach the $$$ a little lesson.

Not a wise idea if Hart thought that way. He would be starting a war he cannot win.

This may have already been posted but my understanding of what went down comes from a source that I trust as much as the Chattanooga Times reporter trusts his. Gruden wanted full control of Football Operations, reporting directly to Cheek, not Hart. He wanted TOTAL control. Boosters were split. Haslem was on Hart's side, Peyton on Gruden's side. To restructure the Athletic Department and lose control of football had to be a difficult pill for Hart to swallow and so he balked. Money may have been an issue but I feel boosters would have written the check. No way he can go public with that information IMO. Have a feeling the Athletic Department and boosters are as split on this as the fans are. Time will tell.

That is the one thing I could never find via Googling. Fired on 12/28/08... what was the structure of the buyout? 48 months starting which month? Payments of what per month? Etc.

That would explain a lot if we actually knew how that was structured...

Great point. Gruden gets his last paycheck from TB on 12/15 - the same time Hart is now expected to make an announcement.

The goal was to throw everybody off and it worked.

So, what with this date of last check? I have heard Nov. 30 and mid December. Does anyone outside of Gruden and Tampa really know?
