Have we hired a coach? More than meets the eye here. 2 people have been left outside looking in (Agent , Hart). Money did the end around and did so with blocking set(BOT, money at the ready and PM) . Hart has been straight armed with a pick not his own and is locked in peeing contest with players above his pay grade. He can't win so he plays or gets played.

Anyone else find it strange that Grudens agent is just now saying these rumors came from "fantasy land" and they've been going on for months?

Here's my question.

The boosters pooled money and went all in on the Gru. This money was for Gru only. If Hart failed to deliver Gru the money was to be returned. Hart would then have a budget of 2.9 to hire a coach.

Here's the question.
As of 9:15 the money has not been returned. There are currently no plans to return it. Why?

Hart knows he is ****ed either way. Honestly, who is gonna coach here knowing what has transpired? Who? Not a single top coach, I would think. For Harts career and livelihood, he MUST get the Gruden deal done. Everyone has already turned against him. Now he can save the day. Everything that has happened was for Gruden, and he was delivered to Hart.

In fairness I was never out until today. My confidence in a MOU being signed went way down at one point but until today I never posted I didn't think we would get him. I had been convinced a long time 75% or greater. It's odds for me. Anyone that has had no doubts is not being realistic imo.

What's MOU?

The problem for Hart is that he's negotiating from a weak position. UT is desperate, and LaMonte knows it. Hart is like a young girl whose car breaks down in a shyster's used car lot.

Agree totally, but I would bet that Hart doesn't it see it that way. I think he really believes he can win with another hire other than Gruden, and is hoping that Gruden sees the chance at a $1M raise to coach somewhere where he will be unquestionably loved is slipping away. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that Hart thinks he is in a weak position because Gruden isn't his first or only choice (if we believe what many have said).

I think LaMonte sees it as you, and frankly all of us do. We need Gruden and LaMonte's services MUCH more than they need Hart and UT's. LaMonte knows that Hart is in way over his head, and he couldn't give two craps about UT - he's just jockeying for the best result for his client.

Probably to pay off existing contracts and then use some to hire his coach.

No that was his a-hole way of e-braking it to a standstill within the media for whatever reason, good or bad

And so are the days of our lives.

The one thing I forgot to add to this pi$$ing contest is how slighted Hart felt by being gone around. The money met with Gruden and got an agreement (according to Y4B, who I believe). Hart CAN'T have been happy to find out that people whose jobs do not depend on this hire thought that they could do his job for him.

Just a thought as to why Dave might be playing hardball. LaMonte has the prize, sure, but the AD is in full fah q mode at the moment and is willing to make the $$$ sweat for their guy. I don't know Hart from Adam, but I would be willing to bet he's willing to teach the $$$ a little lesson.

I would agree with you if big money didn't rule college football. Let's be honest.

Like others have said, we've pooled money for you to hire this one coach. Get it done. If you don't, then we're pulling the money.

Oh, and the guy who wants it done is a billionaire whose son is the Governor... who is the most senior member of the board of trustees... who are your boss' boss.

So, Mr. Hart, tell me what you would like to do.

Yes.

From everything I can gather this was on a silver platter given to Hart. I would imagine if not patched up tonight or the next day its over. Im wondering if a lowball number was given in the contract. This has been in the works for sometime.

I do believe it was a done deal with the boosters and then Hart came into the picture and it went south. He very well may be fired but it will be after the hire is complete.

I still really think we get Gruden. Here's why:
LaMonte's antics today line up with what has been reported here by a poster with connections to one of his ex employees.
Why would LaMonte respond to Hargis report after all sides have pretty much ignored everything else? Hargis' report makes sense and lines up with what some OG's have posted for a long time. There has to be truth in Hargis' report because it really set things off, he has connections (similiar to the TV reporter who posted on FB last night about Gruden being done) Hargis is the lone reporter claiming cold hard evidence, I believe the guy. I look at who gets info from boosters VS who gets info from AD and things point to there being a full court press on Hart.

Things said by LaMonte dont add up. This just doesnt make sense to think that there has been no contact until Hart called him today. Not sure exactly what is going on, but in no way do I think this is dead. I think LaMonte and others are pushing Hart/ boosters, or whoever.

Let Hart resign. I welcome it.

There are 50 Harts out there that would come here in a minute.

Hell, we have 2 or 3 willing and more than capable sitting around the program right now.

Hart will not be missed. If he believes he will, his fate is already sealed.

you mean after a Gruden hire or another? I will be livid if they let him ruin this, hire a coach, then fire him.
