Don't to be too quick there Bcarter. Not to play juggling sources, but the primary places I was receiving information is/are/were uniquely positioned to have to first hand knowledge of what was going on. I still think they believed there was an agreement. They are the ones that relayed to me last night things went off the rails. Until then, as recently as 5 days ago, we were good. And if they thought they "had a deal" it wasn't conjecture but bc Gruden said he was coming. That i have no question about. He Was getting his staff ready. you dont do all of that if you're Listening and smiling. That's all I'll say about it.

Now today I was told directly that Hart WAS/IS part of the problem. Don't know details but there is an issue there. TIFWIW

Liper - I don't want to know specifics, but are your sources more in the category of media, university administrations or boosters? I think its safe to assume your sources aren't in the Gruden camp directly or on the peripheray of the Gruden camp given the context of your statement above and prior statements. I'm not wanting to expose sources, just trying to piece together a theory I have regarding Hart.

Fast forward some and after many more talks a deal is agreed upon and an MOU is signed agreeing upon the terms needed for Gruden to coach at UT. That is the gist of it. Believe it or not but jay and OV can back me up on that. This all happened and is 100% fact.

Which fits nicely into what I was saying. The principals are $$$ and JG, and the wrenches in the process are their agents (AD and Bob LaMonte). Each of whom believe that if allowed to work, they can tailor the deal to their own ideal vision of what it should be. They're both trying to beat each other at the game when JG and $$$ have already agreed in principle.

I just saw on the ESPN ticker during the UT/GU game that Gruden has told UT he is not interested, but there was negotiations the went deep into last week.

Nothing makes sense...

Backing you up, Gruden never said a word since mike and mike, it was his "lost in the translation" agent...

Which means it is far from over. Deals that have been in works for months do not go sour in one night.

As for Lamonte's comments....all will be forgotten when the prize is delivered.

While I'm in the boxing business, I have been involved in these type deals many times as well. Maybe its apples to oranges, but the statements from Lamonte and Gruden do not feel familiar to me at all. I don't think they want any part of this.

Agreed. Coaches and agents lie all the time, but the fantasy world comments pretty much close the door.

For those asking do we still believe. Yes. Golden, Strong, Fisher, etc have already put out press releases that they are not leaving their schools. Yet we are still interviewing them according to Hubbs. Gruden says he is staying at espn and the world says it done. I call BS. If it ain't done with the others, it ain't done with Gruden.
