The people I talked to and continue to talk to are very legit, but obviously their information wasn't.
Another case of "Big Booster Talk" that they couldn't deliver, not even close.
You can never trust what is reported. I think saban proved that but i doubt this is a smokescreen. It is plausiable that hart swoops in and saves the day later at least in appearance but i doubt this is an elaborate smokescreen.
So then spill it what did he do, ballpark. Refuse full control? What?My two cents worth with a little information from someone that many here know:
The Gruden deal was all but signed, sealed and delivered however Hart screwed the proverbial pooch and wrecked the deal.
Gruden was never Hart's #1 choice rather he was the big $$$ boosters first choice.
As time passes (and if the Gruden hire can't be salvaged by those who were initially brokering the deal), information will come to light that will show to the VolNation that Hart did sour the Gruden deal.
Mark my words, this mega screw-up rests squarely on Hart's shoulders and hopefully he will be held accountable for it. Before you blast me, keep this in mind:
Hart approved the hire of Sal S and paid way too much for his services;
Hart hoped to rehabilitate Dooley and wanted to keep around up until the Vandy loss forced Dooley's dismissal (for this reason alone, Volunteers should question Hart's judgment and his abilities as an AD);
Hart allowed Dooley to run roughshod over administrative staff in the football offices and AD offices;
Hart looked the other way while the Doolster willfully violated certain AA practice rules;
Hart has never made a big-time hire as an AD.
I will close by saying that Hart has done little to endear himself to the Volunteer faithful nor has he even earned his "bones" here. There were some well qualified Tennessee alum who would have been very good candidates for the AD position. It will be very interesting to see when that position becomes available given the latest events - perhaps it will be sooner than later.
Except, the agent said that Hart had not talked to HIM. Hyams said that Hart spoke directly with Gruden. Small difference.
UNLESS hart saving the day has been the plan the whole time, I just don't see it. If there is ANY truth to just 1 of the stories in the past 72 hours the only people who can save this deal are Big Orange Money guys.
It makes sense because we scared him away. Tennessee fans crossed the line. Period. I wouldn't want to live in Knoxvegas and coach UT after having myself and my family slandered and misrepresented by the school's fans.
Seriously, some of those rumors might have been true, but some of the stuff that focused around his family and personal life were downright fake and mildy disturbing (Webb Acceptance Ltr., Brown's ownership interest, etc.)
I don't blame Gruden; but I also think we can find a coach who can exceed even Gruden's expectations while coming for consideration of much less $ value. I don't know who that coach is, but I am confident that Dave Hart is diligently doing his homework and will make the best hire he can given all the circumstances.
Have Faith. Go Vols. **** bama
Since you said the ship has sailed, can you give the reason you believe that and has it been accuratedly reported today?.
Just curious.
Thanks. HopVol is about the only one still being an *******.
Gman, I could send him some pics from the lake that would blow his mind huh. Making it up as I go lol. I reported it as I went, and info changes. He is just another miserable person that derives his joy from tearing others down.
