i don't think that gruden is going to tell he's coming to the vols on the mike/mike show. He did seem annoyed. I remember when urban and saban both lied and they ended up at ohio state/bama.

can't help it though, in the back of my mind, i think that it might be jimbo fisher.

what amazes me is the sloppiness and inaccuracy in reporting. first with the memphis channel saying the father of the governor owned the browns....and then mike and mike repeating the report verbatim. big jim doesnt own the browns, his son does. for espn to repeat a factually inaccurate report is mindboggling to me.

I find it hard to believe that anybody who has ever observed a coaching hire could hear that and not conclude that it is very likely that Gruden will be our next coach.

If you have ever been in negotiations, then you would know exactly what his response meant. I have never heard Gruden so flummoxed. Usually he is confident and thoughtful. It sounded like he was prepped and forgot what to say or something.

The wife and kids thing was the most telling and obvious sign.

I dont know if this has been brought up already, but the knox news article says his buyout with tampa goes through early or mid december. If that is the hangup then will we likely be waiting until mid december for answers?

Ainge was saying ends in the next couple of days. Not sure who is correct?

I agree, I don't want to move on. Trust me being stuck in Georgia and having to listen to all the SEC champ talk this week is killing me. The gruden hire was the only thing giving me hope, now I feel that is gone.
I don't feel there is another coach out there that will get me excited. I just am numb right now , which is kinda sad to be about a sport. but I do love Vols Football and it kills me to be where we are.

I don't see why you are so down? Besides flat out saying he accepted the Tennessee job, that interview was about the best news we have seen. He couldn't wait to quit talking about Tennessee. He definitely had something to hide. Relax.

I know you may not have learned this yet, but it's call misdirection. News came out before they wanted and they have to deny.

It's a matter of opinion. You have a defeatist opinion, and think your team sucks. Others actually have pride in their team and still think the UT job is coveted by many. Are there 24 schools that have better history and tradition, potential, and a nicer stadium and facilities to boot? I don't think so, but that is only my opinion. Just like your list is an opinion.

Others can certainly think the UT job is coveted by many, but they would be wrong. If it is a top 10 job that is coveted by so many, how on earth did we end up with Derek Freaking Dooley? If you can answer that question I'll be impressed.
