Every time Gruden talks about how talented the Eagles' defense is and he can't believe how bad they're playing, all I hear him saying is, "They just need a coach who can inspire them... that's me."

So you think the space between the fire and the hire is to separate the boosters from the situation and allow Hart to hire the guy the boosters set him up for? IE making it look like Harts hire.

I will say that the governor would be very interested in not having his involvement with a hire being made before a job came open becoming public knowledge. That would cause him significant political issues and maybe even legal issues IMO.
