If Al Golden is hired, then Dave Hart will make Hamilton look competent...ok, a bit of a stretch, but you see where I am going with that.....

Golden is a solid coach.

Im not sure Im ready to stack him up against the top 1/3 in this league tho.

If he's the best UT can do, this program is in deeper than most think.

Bring Fulmer back on the cheap. Then throw the checkbook at the assistants... Sit back and watch... It won't be long until we are back... Announce the Coach in waiting and let Phil go out on his terms in 3 years.

OC- Jim Chaney
DC- John Chavis
QB-WR- Tee Martin
RB- Jay Graham
OL- Sam Pittman
DL- "Let Chavis Pick It"

You guys can fill in the rest of the Coaches... Bring in a star studded cast to surround the HC... Only then can we win...

You guys know it and I know it.. You can bring in any Coach in the nation.. And he will NOT win without the best Coordinators.. Then bring the best recruits.. Now we are talking about winning...

General Neyland quoted that the Head Coach of any football team is only as good as his supporting cast and players... Come on folks, we are VFL.. and we are a family.. I don't really care who the next Head Coach is, but he had better have some good Coordinators or we will be right back here in three years just like today discussing the same ole same ole...

Golden would be a sounder coach, but it would take some big wins for people to be convinced, I think most would agree with that. I still think we can get the top 2 on that list.

I take it he set a date for Gruden's hiring, and when it came and went, he had to wear the avatar until we get a coach. Is that correct?

You think that Jimmy was going to let Hart make him out to be the bad guy? That was a huge PR stunt by Cheek to play ball and act as if the two were working "hand in hand". Plus the arm twisting behind the shadows at UT's higher up. Cheek had to address Hart's statements after his Press conference. Giving money and acknowledging the problems and how they will be "fixed" definitely does that.

He might not have record profits on his resume but to say the guy isn't good at his job is absurd. In some circumstances you can't just look at something as simple as a record. Now Al isn't first on my list but I think at a stable program he would be a good coach.

right, but some of the the other candidates do have record profits on their resume at the biggest companies in the world. why waste time on this guy?

Agreed. The only way we build our reserve is by winning and putting people in the seats.

Winning also does another thing. Boosters like to give more when they can see their funds going to winning teams.

#1 Fulmer is thought so highly of here that he is advising Kentucky on their hiring rather than Tennessee.

#2 That isn't even close to a star studded staff.
