If this the case then they should have just kept Dooley.. If I am a veteran, highly sought after coach I would never except terms like these.. I would have the freedom to select my own staff or you can kiss my a$$..

This HAS to have allready been dealt with.. If there is a snag (I don't believe there is one) it has to be something other than control of staff decisions such as being layden with existing coaches...

I believe what we have been told. I think it's a done deal. I'm only trying to make sense of these "snags" we were warned about. I'll just be glad when it's over , and it shoud be soon.

Before this takes a down turn, I would like to repost how I believe the OG's have portrayed this deal.

I believe that the "insiders" in this thread have, at one time in this thread, said that "from what I am hearing, what I heard, I was told". So one should reason that this is all conjecture. Now some have quoted the "insiders" posts that said 100% or he is our next coach, and implied what you are saying. But if one would read the entire body of work, you would see that they are stateing, it as an opinion and not fact. Although thier sources may be powerful enough that they would choose to believe that it is indeed fact, based on who they know or heard it from. And most of them have stated that you can believe it or not.

Let me add that anyone is welcome to doubt. But, please don't post combative statements. You don't walk into churches and tell the congregation that they are stupid to believe because they have no sources. The OG's are not going to reveal their sources, so you can believe them or don't believe them. If you choose to not believe and expect details, then might I suggest that you move to a thread that you can enjoy. Be nice.

I posted earlier that hiring all staff and budget decsions are the only control issues I can think of. If we can't give any coach that then we will have to settle for a very poor choice.

I think it's about approval for spending money and support staff, too.

From time to time facilities are going to need things like new projectors for the film rooms, maybe iPads for the coaching staff.

He may want to hire his own film and IT staff and fund whatever he wants them to do. That might get expensive, what if they decide to create a drop-box like system for coaches to be able to access game film on those iPads. It might require server upgrades etc.

Those are things a former NFL coach might want, that a school that's already shelling out 9 mil/year in salaries doesn't want to spend for right away.

I'm just throwing ideas out there, but I think it probably has to do with authorization to spend money and make hiring/firing decisions.
