In 2012 I was far more connected than now. I am still great friends with a bunch of VFLs from the 94-98 era and was involved with the team during that time period but not as a player to be clear. I know some former assistant coaches and some people in the media that often tell me different things personally than what they say on air. Things were much different in 2012. My company supplied goods and services to the Athletic Department and I spoke almost on daily basis with officials within the AD including Assistant AD's, Transportation Directors, Media Directors etc... I am still in touch with some of them that have moved on to other schools. Back in 2012 EVERY person I spoke with said "Gruden is coming" and I willfully shared that info here. I got in trouble with UT because they Facebook stalked me since I never really tried to hide who I was thus making it easy. I was flamed to the point I left Vol Nation for several years when he didn't end up our coach.

My point is I see a HUGE red flag when someone says 100%, Its done, the eagle has landed or any other sort of post that implies the finality has been reached and a contract has been signed. I thought some of you that are newer people that were not around in 2012 should see this and now where I am coming from.

I am all in 100% that I want Gruden but again, after the 2012 debacle, I will believe it (and celebrate like hell) when I see it.

I apologize for the "Troll" post last night. I do not take back what I said because it is true but should not have posted it probably. I do not know any of the new insiders and the specific people I am talking about, although a couple are here, the vast majority are people that get quoted from TOS that found out who I was and started calling-texting me under the rouse of sharing information when in reality they wanted me to validate their information on Vol Nation. The same for Twitter which I have not even looked at since then.

Except that Georgia (as much as we like to think of them as a 3rd world country) has airports of their own, namely one of the largest in the world in Atlanta, that he would fly directly to and wouldn't require him to travel by car 2.5-3hrs to Athens?

TYS isn't a connecting airport. If you are originating somewhere else you wouldn't stop in Knoxville for a connecting flight to ATL.

And I could be mistaken, but aren't the HQ's for SEC network in Charlotte? Pretty sure that's a direct flight to Atlanta.

All that being said, it could be nothing, it could be untrue. But if true, it could be something.

This thread illustrates a lot of what's wrong with this country today. Anybody who disagrees with your agenda to the slightest degree has to go. Carter is a better poster than 99% on here, and has been around for a long time. It would be better for our collective sanity to have more rational, level-headed posters around here. :hi:

Honestly, besides the few legitimate journalists (Hargis, Brice, and practically nobody else) who say it is possible, my greatest reason for optimism is last year's Presidential election.

$9.5 mil for 5 years is the number. Tiered bonus system could make him higher paid than St Nick. Another $7 mil for assistants. I’ll be back in 12 days to confirm some fact checking. OUT

Imagine being in a high profile job, and being told you have 2 weeks left and then you are out of a job, and a week later they bring your replacement in...I just do t think we are going to get an official announcement of any kind until after Vandy. I don’t see Currie, or JG doing that to the coaches that are still here. I think Currie plans on making the hire, and announcement soon after Vandy...no matter who it ends up being, and bowl games could affect that as well. We all need to take a deep breath and hang on. Go cheer for the team the next 2 weeks and support our guys on the field, everything else will come in due time.

Makes sense to me to announce Sunday after LSU. Got visits for the Vandy game, make a hot topic for Thanksgiving....

Not so much "setting up" as in directly media related (equipment stuff and such)... but he said "the AD was told to get ready for a big event Tuesday after VU game"...

I know what you're saying, I didn't mean they're physically setting up in TBA right now

Probably AD-wide preparation, I have no clue really

Finebaum is definitely in Knoxville. There is a picture of him at McGhee-Tyson. But I'm telling you t doesn't mean anything. News is just slow today so people are making a big deal out of it. I guarantee he is just filming an interview or doing something for the TN/LSU game to put on SEC Nation.

The longer this drags the less i think there's anything actually happening. We went through this in 2012, now there is more info and credible info in 2017.

I totally expect us to roll out with Mike Norvell in two weeks.

I've always enjoyed reading your post man and appreciated your info in 2012.
